SiriusXM radio shock jock Howard Stern took time during his Wednesday broadcast to praise the job that President Joe Biden is doing, but he thinks that Republicans are the “wackos.”
In a conversation that ranged from active Senate races to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the 68-year-old Stern who is evidently still afraid to leave his own house as a result of the pandemic railed against the way politics is influencing COVID restrictions.
“The reason they’ve lifted these mask mandates is because we gave into this small minority of people who are completely out of their f*cking mind,” Stern asserted, “who think masks are some sort of prison sentence.”
This is coming from the same individual who ridiculed those who died after expressing their public opposition to vaccinations which he wanted to be mandatory for everyone. “F*ck them, f*ck their freedom. I want my freedom to live. I want to get out of the house already,” Stern said in September 2021.
“When they focus on those battles,” he continued on masks, “then that becomes big news and then these politicians get scared.”
One listener reacted pointing out that Stern is in the minority on this as even those on the left have stopped caring about the masks.
Bullshit Howard. It’s not a small majority at all. I live in southern westchester in a pretty affluent, highly educated, non right wing town and the vast majority of people are not masking, and those that are don’t care if others are not.

“So many wackos. I miss the old Republican Party. Used to be nice to have a two-party system. Now it’s wackos versus, you know, Democrats. The wacko party!” Stern carried on about his personal displeasure. “I hate to say it, only 65 percent of Americans are fully vaccinated and I can’t help but think – the wackos are winning.”
He hammered home how out of touch his personal opinions were when he made his assessment that Biden has the Ukraine situation completely under control.
“People [say,] ‘Joe Biden’s not a good president.’ He’s a great president, not a good president. He’s a great president,” Stern said, the Hill reported.
Fans wouldn’t have anything to do with that “bs”.

“The way [Biden’s] handling Ukraine – some other moron might have said, ‘Oh, no, no, no, let’s put Ukraine in NATO. Let’s start World War III. Let’s go in there and help.’ He’s handling it in a smart fashion – as smart as he can with something as stupid as this,” Stern claimed.
Meanwhile, according to one recent poll, more than 60 percent of voters aren’t confident that Biden can prevent the conflict from growing into a full-fledged war. Further, almost 20 percent are only somewhat confident in the president’s handling of deterrence.
Stern then pushed the distorted view that opposition to involvement in Ukraine was the equivalent of supporting the Russians.
“There’s some group of us in America who seem to be a little bit in the majority that believe it’s really good for us to be in NATO. It’s good for us to have friends in Europe. It’s good for us to have allies,” he said. “And then there’s the wackos who are like, ‘F*ck them. [Russian President Vladimir] Putin is cool. We like Putin.’ I mean, it’s so outrageously bizarre.”
“There’s so much wacky sh*t going on in politics,” he said essentially blaming these developments on the founding father. “The stupidity of [the] way we have our voting set up. The system was rigged – [President Donald] Trump’s right. It was rigged in his favor. It was absolutely absurd that this guy got to be the president of the United States.”
“Ever since Trump won the Republican nomination,” Stern concluded from his limited worldview, “the whole Republican Party’s gone bonkers.”
