“The View’s” Joy Behar swooned over Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson on Wednesday claiming that she reminds her of former President Barack Obama “because he was also perfect,” and stated that “a perfect black person” had to be the nominee or Republicans wouldn’t “be able to deal with it.”

In the opening segment of the show, Behar fawned over the judge claiming that Jackson was like Obama because he “had nothing wrong going on.” Both Goldberg and co-host Sunny Hostin slammed the questioning of the nominee by conservatives. Behar expressed outrage over it.

“All I have to say is here you have a woman, Ketanji, who reminded me of Obama a little bit because he was also perfect. He had nothing wrong going on,” Behar claimed. “It’s like the movie ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,’ where Sidney Poitier plays this psychologist or doctor who’s perfect.”

“They have to have a perfect black person to run otherwise the Republicans will not be able to deal with it,” she contended. “So what you have here are 50 senators who are going to vote against this woman, who is above reproach, the first black woman in that position. That is going to be on their record, and that’s why they’re asking these dumb questions.”

Behar also said that many of the questions that Brown Jackson was asked by Republicans were just for show. “That’s why they’re asking these dumb questions. So that they can have something to bring back to their constituency,” she asserted. “It’s an embarrassment to the country to vote against a woman of this caliber.”

At the beginning of the segment, co-host Whoopi Goldberg played a number of clips of Republican senators including Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, and Marsha Blackburn questioning the nominee on Tuesday. She was quizzed on her faith, what she felt the “definition of a woman” was, her lenient record on sentencing sex offenders. and on Critical Race Theory.

“But of course, yesterday, some Republicans whose names you know, used their time at the hearing to bitch,” Goldberg carped. “They put their grievances out there, grievances from like 1910, all the way up to yesterday.”

“He says ‘So judge, do believe that the First Amendment applies equally to conservatives as well as liberals?’ What a dumb question!” Behar said referring to Lindsey Graham.

“We’re being robbed of really what she should be asked, which is about judicial philosophy, which is about whether or not she will recuse herself or what her thoughts are about the affirmative action case that’s going to the court in the fall — when she sits on the on the board at Harvard — and Harvard is an issue in that case,” Hostin chimed in. “I think that it’s unfortunate that Republicans are taking this opportunity to air grievances.”

“I will say I spent yesterday rewatching the proceedings and crying the ugly cry, because like you, as a black woman who went to predominantly white institutions my entire life, I know how hard it is, it was for her to get to where she is,” Hostin added. “And I know what it’s like to be the only person in the room. And I cried because my daughter now will see this, because my cousins now will see this, and little girls all around the country will see this.”

Guest co-host Lindsey Granger was the only one who even remotely pushed back on “The View,” focusing on qualifications instead of just solely on race and gender, “I think, that said, even if she is perfect, we need to ask hardball, pressing questions.”

Wednesday was the third day of the confirmation hearings. Jackson will be confirmed as Democrats hold a slim majority with Vice President Kamala Harris casting the deciding vote. All but possibly one or two Republicans are expected to vote against the nominee.
