Conservative commentator and radio host Dan Bongino eviscerated fact-checkers for labeling reports on US-funded bioweapons labs in Ukraine as fake news, asserting we are in a “misinformation crisis” and if they are calling it a hoax, it’s most likely true.
Bongino made his explosive allegations on “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Wednesday. He pointed out that fact-checkers are calling news of the labs’ existence right-wing conspiracy theories.
“It’s no wonder we are at this point… Tell us the damn truth,” Bongino demanded. “There’s a misinformation crisis because you [the media] created it.”
“This story was real,” he added. “Yet the fact-checkers, who had no special access to information at all, came out and said: ‘No, no – no, no, no – that’s a bad story for the Biden administration – Obama may have been involved – so that’s a hoax and you’re banned from Facebook if you put it up. And you wonder why we are where we are right now with the information crisis in the country.”
Dan Bongino going HARD on fact-checkers today: "Whenever you see fact-checkers get involved in a debate, it should say to you immediately … that the Biden administration is hiding something, is using the fact-checkers to suppress the story on social media."

“We had our team at ‘Primetime’ just research it [the Ukraine Biolabs] and found that it was on some Senate websites – we [even] found Barak Obama, on camera, talking about it,” Watters contended.
“Yes! I want to show you something,” Bongino exclaimed and then pulled out his cellphone. “You and I, Jesse, we have a special internet just for me and you. This took me two seconds doing my show this morning. Here’s my iPhone, here’s the article: ‘Washington Post, 2005, the US to aid Ukraine in countering bioweapons’ – there, as long as it took me to type: ‘bioweapons Ukraine.’ That’s the Washington Post! 2005! And yet the ‘fact-checker’ said it’s a conspiracy… It even has the name of the lab!”
Both Russia and China are now alleging that the United States has bioweapons labs in Ukraine and Bongino tends to believe them.
The interesting thing here is that Biden’s Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland seemingly confirmed the existence of the labs.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) asked her on Tuesday during a hearing of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, “Does Ukraine have chemical or biological weapons?”
“Ukraine has biological research facilities, which, in fact, we are now quite concerned Russian troops, Russian forces, may be seeking to gain control of. So, we are working with the Ukrainians on how they can prevent any of those research materials from falling into the hands of Russian forces should they approach,” Nuland testified, according to Fox News.
Dan Bongino cited articles going back to 2005 about American bio labs surrounding Russia. Biden spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told Congress that the labs exist for “research purposes.” What type of research? Why are we doing research in Ukraine.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson laid it out succinctly and bluntly voiced his disbelief as well.
“Try not to use profanity on the air to describe our reaction. Our jaws dropped, let’s leave it there. Under oath in an open committee hearing, Toria Nuland just confirmed that the Russian disinformation they’ve been telling us for days is a lie and a conspiracy theory and crazy and immoral to believe is, in fact, totally and completely true,” Carlson stated on Fox News.
“Woah, you don’t hear things like that every day in Washington. Talk about a showstopper and a dozen questions instantly jump to mind. What exactly are they doing in these secret Ukrainian bio labs? Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe. It’s hardly a hotbed of biomedical research. We’re assuming these weren’t pharmaceutical labs, probably not developing new Leukemia drugs. From your answer, Toria Nuland, we would assume because you all but said it, that there’s a military application to this research, that they were working on bioweapons. Again, your answer suggests that,” he continued.
“Why would we fund something like that in Ukraine, and why didn’t you secure the contents of these bio labs before the Russians arrived as you knew they would? And then why did you go out of your way to lie to the American public about all of this? If the ‘research materials’ in these labs were to escape somehow and you seem very concerned about that, what would be the effect on Ukraine and then on the rest of the world? How can we prepare for the consequences of that, this thing that you’re worried about? Shouldn’t we be preparing? Because as it turns out, we’ve just spent the last two years living with the pathogen that began in another foreign bio lab funded by the United States government secretly,” Carlson said.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki called the Russian/Chinese claims “preposterous” in a series of posts on Twitter and shifted the blame by saying it was Moscow “that has a long and well-documented track record of using chemical weapons.”
This is preposterous. It’s the kind of disinformation operation we’ve seen repeatedly from the Russians over the years in Ukraine and in other countries, which have been debunked, and an example of the types of false pretexts we have been warning the Russians would invent.
— Jen Psaki (@PressSec) March 9, 2022
That record ostensibly includes the “attempted assassinations and poisoning of” Russian President Vladimir Putin’s political enemies like the Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, she charged.
“We should all be on the lookout for Russia to possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or to create a false flag operation using them,” she went on to state.
It’s Russia that has a long and well-documented track record of using chemical weapons, including in attempted assassinations and poisoning of Putin’s political enemies like Alexey Navalny.

Also, Russia has a track record of accusing the West of the very violations that Russia itself is perpetrating. In December, Russia falsely accused the U.S. of deploying contractors with chemical weapons in Ukraine.

Now that Russia has made these false claims, and China has seemingly endorsed this propaganda, we should all be on the lookout for Russia to possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or to create a false flag operation using them. It’s a clear pattern.

The US Department of State and the Pentagon both denounced the Russian claims.
In a statement, Ned Price, who is the spokesperson for the Department of State, accused Russia of “inventing false pretexts in an attempt to justify its own horrific actions in Ukraine” and said Washington was “in full compliance with its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention and Biological Weapons Convention, and it does not develop or possess such weapons anywhere.”
John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesperson, called the Russian accusations “absurd,” “laughable.” and a “bunch of malarkey.”
“There’s nothing to it. It’s classic Russian propaganda,” he informed reporters.
The US officials accused China of “echoing” Moscow’s “conspiracy theories.”
Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Russian foreign ministry called out Washington over alleged illegal activities in Ukraine.
Maria Zakharova said Russia had documents showing the Ukrainian health ministry had ordered the destruction of samples of plague, cholera, anthrax, and other pathogens before February 24, when the invasion began.
“It can be concluded that components of biological weapons were being developed in Ukrainian biolabs located in close vicinity of our border,” she accused. “The emergency destruction of dangerous pathogens on February 24 was a necessary step aimed at concealing the fact that Ukraine and the US had violated Article 1 of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention.”
The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday that the “US has 336 labs in 30 countries under its control, including 26 in Ukraine alone.” It also called for the US to “give a full account of its biological military activities at home and abroad and subject itself to multilateral verification.”
