A Tacoma law enforcement officer was put on administrative leave over a viral video in which he implored Washington D.C. police to respect the rights of “People’s Convoy” protesters who traveled to the nation’s capital to peacefully demonstrate against the Biden regime’s COVID overreach.

In the video that was posted to social media, Officer Robert Hollingsworth who was in uniform and in his vehicle called for his fellow officers to refuse to obey what he referred to as “spineless and tyrannical” political leaders who would issue orders to forcefully crack down on the patriotic truckers and other protesters who began to arrive at the destination of their cross-country journey on Sunday.

“For the next minute or so a police officer for the Tacoma Police Department,” Hollingsworth began. “This message is to the police in D.C. and other cities that have spineless and tyrannical leaders such as mine.”

“Stop allowing the left and the media to use our profession for political gain. The People’s Convoy is coming and you will be tested,” he continued. “If you violate people’s constitutional rights due to the orders of some liberal tyrant, conservatives will turn on you and they absolutely should for you doing so.”

“Let us not forget that conservatives support law enforcement as they realize it is essential to upholding our rights and freedoms as Americans,” he said, “Please do not repeat what happened in Canada as it only fuels the liberal narrative, divides our country, and goes against everything America’s about.”

“If you’re going to stay in the profession do it honorably. Remember your oath is ultimately to uphold and support liberty which is the absolute foundation this country was built upon,” he added. “Police each other and now for the fun part…”

He then picked up his radio handset and said, “I’ll be signing off for the last time, just want to say, cheers boys and let’s go Brandon,” the three words that bring the blood of leftists to a slow, rolling boil.

Naturally, Officer Hollingworth’s video resulted in a deluge of complaints by the leftist Twitter mob and, soon afterward, his gun and badge were confiscated.

The Tacoma Police Department responded to the complaints by issuing a press release.

“It was brought to the attention of the Tacoma Police Department that Patrol Officer Robert Hollingsworth posted a video to social media expressing personal political opinions while wearing a Tacoma Police Department uniform and sitting in a patrol vehicle,” the statement reads. “This post was made at the end of Officer Hollingsworth’s last patrol shift prior to his official resignation date of March 13, 2022. In doing so, Officer Hollingsworth violated City policy.”

In a second video, Hollingsworth slammed the department as “acting on a cowardly fashion”

“Hey, I just got word that the Tacoma Police Department is placing me on admin leave effective immediately because they received a little bit of pushback from the media,” he said. “So, on cowardly fashion, instead of waiting a few days after my resignation, to do so, which is totally fine. I totally accept it.”

“What I’m thinking about doing is rescinding my resignation and fighting this out through the litigation process because other officers numerous times have posted in uniform in their car,” he said, “things about I don’t know, where to shoot police officers in the vest in order not to kill them and all I did was speak about upholding liberty, holding ourselves accountable. I don’t understand the difference. So we’ll see.”

He added, “Also, my stuff was already turned in and they’re out here on a witch hunt looking for my guns when it’s in your parking lot.”

On Monday, despite the insistence of People’s Convoy leaders that they do not intend to engage in violence, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s stormtroopers issued an emergency declaration, not a good sign. And since the convoy will also be inside of authoritarian D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s domain, it is very possible that police will be asked to act forcefully on the orders of a “liberal tyrant.”

**Editor’s note: This story has been corrected to note that the events taking place were with the ‘People’s Convoy’ in DC, not the ‘Freedom Convoy’ as previously reported.
