Democrats showered Joe Biden with praise following his first State of the Union address, a speech in which the embattled president sought to move beyond COVID and put his party on a course to retain control of Congress in this year’s critical midterm elections.

One Democrat who wasn’t gushing was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who said that she thought Biden’s big speech didn’t go far enough, clearly disappointed that he didn’t devote enough time to wish list items of progressives including the cancelation of student loan debt, amnesty for illegal immigrants and the Green New Deal.

Ocasio-Cortez appeared on MSNBC where network hosts Rachel Maddow and Joy Reid sought her input during the post-speech breakdown of Biden’s address, one that they like their fellow left-wing media travelers marveled at as a triumphant moment and possibly a turning point for the hopes of Democrats who are desperate to move beyond the enormously unpopular masks and mandates that they have championed for nearly two years.

When asked for her response by Maddow, the socialist diva opened by praising Biden’s leadership over the Ukraine crisis but then expressed her dismay about Biden’s lack of attention to her most cherished issues.

“I do you think that there are some things that were left unsaid in which we’re really gonna have to work on as a party,” she said. “In order to really speak to constituencies that have historically supported the president, whose turnout we need and whose support we need right now and in the coming years, that perhaps haven’t heard their issues spoken to in the way that they wanted to hear it.”

She continued, ticking off areas that Biden has failed to live up to progressive expectations, “Things like student loan debt, our overall, our larger themes and crises in education as well as the piece on immigration was really just glossed over.”

“And we have over ten, you know anywhere between ten to thirteen million immigrants in this country that feel desperate for a path to citizenship,” added the congressman who is hawking “Abolish ICE” gear in her online store.

“We heard some speaking to DREAMers, but DREAMers want their families to be able to stay,” AOC added. “They don’t want to be separated from the parents either. So I think that there are some things left a little bit to be desired for key constituencies in the Democratic base, but the president’s goal was very clear, was laser-focused on really projecting a theme of unity and I think he stuck to that,” a laughable statement considering the divisive form of governance that Biden has utilized with demonizing the unvaccinated, unleashing federal law enforcement agencies on Trump supporters and non-stop race-baiting.

Ocasio-Cortez was also disappointed that Biden didn’t push Green New Deal agenda items to her satisfaction.

When asked by Reid about Biden releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to offset skyrocketing gas prices, especially now that the Russia-Ukraine conflict could adversely impact the nation’s oil supply, AOC bemoaned the “lost opportunity” to use the SOTU to promote alternative energy sources.

“I think that it definitely was a lost opportunity because the entire country does support, there is profound bipartisan support to a long term shift away from fossil fuels,” she said, a huge exaggeration that likely won’t get much attention from the so-called fact-checkers.

“The vast majority of Americans to support ending fossil fuel subsidies for example. And not only that, but the opportunities to build wind and solar as well as other forms of clean energy can have some potential to create millions of union jobs in the United States,” she added.

“I think that there was a lot more to be desired there,” she said. “EVs, while they are great, they are not the main form of transit for millions of people who live in urban or urban-adjacent areas in the United States and so we need to hear more about our transition to clean energy beyond just, you know, weatherizing our windows, which is incredibly important, and EVs. But we really need to hear more, I think, about mass transit, trains, high-speed rail and renewable energy.”

AOC’s fellow House firebrand Rep. Rashida Tlaib also dumped on Biden in her own response to the SOTU, an idea that comic Bill Maher found to be so absurd that he joked  “it’s like sacking your own quarterback.”

While Biden paid lip service to “unity” as he did throughout his campaign, the petulant “Squad” members continue to demonstrate that when it comes to their party, they are all about themselves and their own silly agenda.
