After spending literally years imposing heavy-handed mask and vaccine mandates and President Joe Biden declaring that a “winter of death” was upon us due to the Omicron COVID variant, the hypocritical Democratic Governors Association is holding a meeting of blue-state governors in sunny, free Florida.
Leaders such as New York’s Governor Kathy Hochul and New Jersey’s Governor Phil Murphy, two of the biggest proponents of suppressive COVID mandates, are now jetting off to a state that refused to impose mask and vaccine mandates, so they are free to party and enjoy themselves free of restrictions.
Following in the footsteps of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and numerous other feckless Democrats, the association is engaged in their own “let them eat cake” moment by unbelievably trekking off to the Sunshine State.
Murphy is the vice-chair of the Democratic Governors Association, so he ostensibly had a say in the location of the meeting. He left New Jersey on Thursday afternoon and will return on Sunday.
Democratic Governors Association coming to FLORIDA for a meeting.
Possibly the most delicious example of Democrat hypocrisy as now they are ALL coming here… togetherhttps://t.co/hx2XgRxtK4— GWardHome (@gwardhome) February 25, 2022
In December, Murphy proclaimed that he will be focused on New Jersey despite everything transpiring nationally, according to NJ.com.
“My nose is pressed against the New Jersey glass,” he quipped. “As much as I feel strongly that we’ve got something to add — whether it’s in the National Governors Association or the Democratic Governors Association — we’ll do it in a way that works for New Jersey.”
He’s staying true to his word of representing what works for New Jersey while located in its polar opposite, Florida.
Coincidentally, New Jersey just got slammed with a winter storm blasting the state with snow and ice that will add to the misery of residents while Murphy is having fun in maskless Florida’s sun.
When Murphy was asked by a reporter why he was going to Florida despite the storm, he asserted he has largely remained in the state during the pandemic for the last two years and that decisions to travel are based “very clearly” on the “facts at the moment.” In other words, he punted.
He also claimed that it will be “very easy to stay in touch” while he’s basking in the Florida sun and that New Jersey is in capable hands with Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver in charge.
Hochul is now reluctantly lifting mask mandates in New York, except in schools which many contend makes no sense whatsoever. It will most likely be a topic while she is in Florida maskless. She has made no comment on the trip. Her website simply says that she is in Florida.
Gov. Hochul is heading to Florida tomorrow. The reason? A Democratic Governors Association event.

The media appears to be ignoring the obvious elitist hypocrisy surrounding the whole meeting in Florida issue. But the trend of pro-mandate Democrats heading off to Florida continues even though many have referred to the state’s governor as “DeathSantis.”
According to 2022 event listings, the Democratic Governors Association curiously has no publicly listed events in Florida. It is evident they are attending the get-together on the down-low due to horrific optics. Evidently, that attempt has failed.
Once again, Democrats were mocked and ridiculed for blatant hypocrisy amid their obvious “rules for thee, but not for me” mentality:
So they don’t have to abide by their own rules? https://t.co/7OC8XXJUPz

Why are #Democratic Governors coming to un-masked and un-vaxed #Florida to have their conference during the Winter of Death!?!?!

Why are all the Dem Governors coming to this 7th ring of hell and death named Florida? All I’ve heard is how people are dying in the streets? Why not have the meeting in the safe places of DC and NY? https://t.co/fvsLDkJ8Hr

Of course the Democratic Governors Association has their event in a Republican state, because they want to have it in an actually nice state. https://t.co/OnF7t3608K
