Gabbard brings down the house with aisle-crossing CPAC speech

Former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who has been a fierce critic of a radicalized Democratic Party that has run roughshod over the nation’s institutions, brought down the house at CPAC when she delivered a rousing speech in which she blasted the power elite, a government gone rogue and the corrupt media that refuses to hold them accountable.

The modern incarnation of her party made it clear that it had no place for Gabbard after the Hawaii Democrat not only refused to kiss Hillary Clinton’s ring in 2016, instead throwing her support behind socialist Bernie Sanders, but then took a flamethrower to Clinton after the twice-failed presidential candidate suggested that she was one of Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s domestic assets.

On Friday, after days of rumors that she would be making the trip to Orlando to address conservatives, Gabbard took the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference where she defended longstanding American values including freedom which is under constant assault by the power-drunk Democrats who control the government and their corporate allies through the “public-private partnership.

“Our freedom comes from God,” she said, “not from any other person, not from anyone in government, our freedom comes from God and to recognize others as children of God is to appreciate that we belong to God and no one else.”

The military veteran who saw duty during the Iraq war also gave a spirited defense of the Constitution, a document that many Democrat leaders view with such contempt that they have enlisted their corporate partners, most notably Silicon Valley tech giants, to circumvent the nation’s founding document.

“So as long as we’re committed to this foundation of freedom that’s enshrined in our constitution and our Bill Of Rights, we can recognize our differences and work together based on that common ground,” Gabbard said. “Coming from that common foundation of freedom we can overcome the great obstacles and challenges that we face, but if we are not committed to this freedom that is so clearly spelled out in the Bill Of Rights, we are doomed to fail as a country.”

“Unfortunately, we have too many Americans including leaders in positions of great power in our country who are not at all committed to upholding the Constitution, we have many Americans who don’t even know that the Bill Of Rights are,” she added. “They think free speech is something that should only be left to those who agree with them saying ‘hey, you know what, if your speech offends me or if it offends anyone, then you should not be allowed to say it.’ This is where we are as a country.”

“We have too many people in positions of power whose foremost responsibility is to protect our freedoms and uphold our God-given rights, and yet they are the ones who are actually trying to take these rights away from us,” she said. “This is the biggest threat to our country, it is not coming from some foreign country, it is coming from power elites here at home and their co-conspirators in the mainstream media and the security state who are working to undermine our freedoms from within.”

In a recent tweet, Gabbard also emphasized that the greatest threat to America is that which is coming from within the nation’s own borders.

“The Durham investigation has shown that the biggest threat to our democracy is not some foreign country, but rather the Power Elite led by the likes of Hillary Clinton and her co-conspirators in the mainstream media & security state who work to undermine our democracy from within,” she wrote.

Gabbard also spoke about a liberal like her speaking before the conservative audience.

“I’ve gotta say, when Matt and I first spoke on the phone about me coming here, we both had a similar reaction to each other saying, “yeah, there’s gonna probably be some strong thoughts that people are going to share with both of us,” she said, referring to Matt Schlapp, the head of the American Conservative Union which organizes CPAC.

Gabbard’s CPAC tour-de-force was a smash hit with many on Twitter who praised her words as well as her willingness to reach out to conservatives, something that the vast majority of Democrats would equate to treason.

Gabbard has posted a video of the entire speech on her YouTube channel.

That Gabbard has effectively been cast out of the Democratic Party serves as an exclamation point that the entity no longer even remotely resembles that party of JFK and FDR, two of its iconic figures who must be spinning in their graves over what Democrats have become.
