Governor Ron DeSantis fired a shot at the Biden administration with a mocking jab at White House press secretary Jen Psaki while celebrating National Margarita Day.
In a newly released video, the Republican governor of Florida highlighted Psaki’s advice to “frustrated” and “angry” Americans with a reality check, noting that a cold margarita is no cure for the economic mess President Joe Biden has delivered to the nation.
“My advice to everyone out there who is frustrated, sad, angry, p—ed off,” Psaki had said in a January appearance on ABC’s “The View” after Democrats failed to pass their voting overhaul bill, “feel those emotions, go to a kickboxing class, have a margarita, do whatever you need to do this weekend, and then wake up on Monday morning, we’ve got to keep fighting.”
In the DeSantis video, the camera pans to the GOP leader who is running for reelection, as he sits at a bar with a margarita before him, watching the Psaki clip on a television monitor.
“Having a margarita is well and good, but it is not a cure for Bidenflation,” DeSantis said.
The short clip ended with a message declaring “Happy National Margarita Day!”

Businesses across the nation have been facing low supplies and rising costs for delivering products and goods to Americans.

The consumer price index, a key measure of inflation, rose 7.5% in January from 2021, marking the fastest increase since February 1982, when inflation hit 7.6%. The Penn Wharton Budget Model, a nonpartisan group at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, found that only households with $100,000 or more in income saw their annual wage income rise by significantly more than consumption costs in 2021.
Biden insists his Build Back Better plan will effectively fight inflation. The bill did not pass in the Senate and many argue that it would actually have the opposite effect.
“Too much spending, too many incentives not to work and produce, and too much money creation,” economic adviser and Fox News host Larry Kudlow said earlier this month.
“It’s not hard, just common sense,” he said.
