Jesse Watters slams Biden admin for being completely ill prepared for Russia, not warning Americans

It remains unclear whether or not Russia will invade the neighboring country of Ukraine, but all visible signs indicate that a shooting war may be imminent and the effects could be far-reaching including for Americans who are already feeling the pinch from inflation.

Fox News’ Jesse Watters responded on Monday to Vice President Kamala Harris’ largely glossed over comments that the U.S. will ‘incur some costs” if Russia invades Ukraine.

Watters predicted that oil will rise to “$100 per barrel within the next couple of weeks” if Russia strikes.

Along with surging gas prices, Watters believes that stock prices will take a ‘huge hit’ while inflation will “get much worse.”

“Have we been prepared as a country to stomach this? No,” Watters warned.

The Fox News host urged President Joe Biden to get tough on Russia and address the American people to help them prepare for what might be coming. But, he also predicted that Biden will remain mum and that the media will blame Russia for economic turmoil instead.

Russian ambassador to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya laid the blame on Ukraine for the rising overtures to war between the two nations during an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Monday.

“I’ll leave the direct verbal assaults against us unanswered,” Nebenzya said, noting the harsh criticism Russia had received from most of the countries represented at the meeting. “Now it’s important to focus on how to avoid war and how to force Ukraine to stop the shelling and provocations.”

“Time and again we firmly asked Kyiv to listen to the aspirations of the people living in Donbas and the Russian speaking residents of the country to respect their entirely legitimate desire to use their mother tongue and to teach their children in that language and also to honor the memories of those who liberated the land from fascists rather than those who fought on the side of fascists and had a hand in the killing of hundreds of thousands of people during the Second World War,” Nebenzya said.

The ambassador said he wished that leadership in Ukraine would “stop talking to their own citizens in the east in the language of cannons and shooting and threats and shelling”

Biden issued an executive order Monday imposing economic sanctions on the two separatist regions that Russian President Putin has acknowledged as independent of Ukraine, but he has not as yet inflicted any financial damage to Russia directly. A senior official in the administration told the outlet that Biden will soon take action “to hold Russia accountable for this clear violation of international law.”

Although Biden and Putin had previously agreed “in principle” to meet over the looming tensions, the Russian president’s recognition of independent loyalist territories in Ukraine may have dashed any hopes of a diplomatic resolution.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield sought to blame aggression wholly on Russia during the UN Security Council meeting Monday.

“Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin, announced that Russia will recognize as ‘independent states’ the so-called DPR and LPR regions, the sovereign territory of Ukraine, an area controlled by Russia’s proxies since 2014. He has since announced that he will place Russian troops in these regions. He calls them peacekeepers. This is nonsense,” Thomas-Greenfield said. “We know what they really are. In doing so, he has put before the world a choice. We must meet the moment, and we must not look away.”

“We do not have to guess at President Putin’s motives,” she continued. “Today, President Putin made a series of outrageous, false claims about Ukraine aimed at creating a pretext for war, and immediately thereafter, announced Russian troops are entering the Donbas. He claimed that Ukraine is seeking nuclear weapons from the West. This is not true. Ukraine is in fact one of only four countries to have voluntarily surrendered their nuclear weapons. The United States and our allies have no intention of supplying nuclear weapons to Ukraine, and Ukraine doesn’t want them.”

She urged all NATO countries to be unified in their condemnation of any attack on Ukraine and hopes Russia will return to the “diplomatic table.”

“In this moment, no one can stand on the sidelines,” Thomas-Greenfield said. “We must make it clear that an attack on Ukraine is an attack on the sovereignty of every UN Member State and the UN Charter – and that it will be met with swift and severe consequences. We continue to believe that the diplomatic table is the only place where responsible nations resolve their differences. That is the only place to preserve peace.”

As BPR reported, in an effort to suggest they are on top of the situation, the White House tweeted a picture of a President Biden along with Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and others in what appeared to be a manufactured meeting of the minds, as it were, complete with nameplates facing the camera for added seriousness.

The tweet drew some well-deserved criticism, especially in light of the deadly surrender in Afghanistan, the repercussions of which have incredibly not affected the employment of anyone in the picture.

In the above video, the panel of Fox News’ “The Five” discussed on Monday the ancillary effect of increased gas prices and inflation should Russia go forward with an invasion of Ukraine, as well as the non-starter of sending Vice President Kamala Harris to Germany in an arguably ineffectual effort to demonstrate U.S. resolve at the Munich Security Conference where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also in attendance.
