‘I’ll shoot this ***** up’: Florida mother arrested after bringing gun to parent-teacher conference

A mother found herself behind bars after bringing more than just words to a parent-teacher conference with the principal of her child’s South Florida elementary school on Thursday thanks to the firearm she carried in her purse and threatened to use.

“I don’t play about somebody playing with my kid,” Brenzina Jones said according to legal documents reviewed by WSVN. “I’ll shoot this [expletive] up.”

The 35-year-old reportedly then “proceeded to open her purse and recklessly display the butt of her gun.”

Marcus Murray Jr., Jones’ teenage son told reporters that the story wasn’t what it was being chalked up to be.

“The security guard was, I guess [there was] false communication, told her a lie, and because of that, my mom said the kind of words she said,” he said, “but my mom is a sweet mom. She always provides for us.”

After brandishing her firearm she reportedly put “the gun back into her purse and made loud verbal threats directed towards Brentwood Elementary.”

Fellow grade school parents were distraught by the idea of a gun being on school grounds.

“Just hearing this story is very upsetting to me,” parent Trinece Coleman, told WSVN. “I never know what’s on a person’s mind, so even if she didn’t mean it, the fact that the gun was there, and the fact that the words came with the weapon there, it was very alarming.”

Reactions on social media were mixed with some people being quick to judge her and assuming that her behavior indicates the gun is likely not legal. Others thought there might be more to the story.

The incident is a prime candidate for “The Bigot Lottery!” segment on the hit conservative comedy “Tommy’s Garage” where host Tommy and his crew “find the biggest idiots who do the dumbest things and force ourselves to guess the race of the idiot, thus proving the futility of bigotry,” and several people were already calling out their guesses on social media.

Jones was advised to remain silent as she entered a Miami Dade courtroom on Friday for a bond hearing.

“Don’t make any statements, Ms. Jones, please,” Circuit Judge Judith Rubenstein urged Jones.

The mother will face several charges connected with the incident including assault and possession of a firearm on school property.
