Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and author Louise Penny authored a cringy anti-Trump book called “State of Terror” a number of months ago and now the movie rights have been sold to entertainment company Madison Wells, paving the way for it to hit the big screen.

The book follows the intrepid adventures of two liberal, middle-aged, supposedly “badass” women who team up to take down a terror threat that was brought on by a president and his administration who put the country in danger due to failed diplomacy and international relations.

Variety first reported Madison Wells picking up the rights to turn the book into a movie. Promotion for Madison Wells describes the company as an entity “with a strong bias towards stories for, by, and about badass women, as well as people who love pushing boundaries.”

Gigi Pritzker is the billionaire film financier and CEO of the company. She effusively praised the book, gushing, “I have been a fan of this genre of literature my whole life and once I got my hands on this book, I couldn’t put it down. We rarely have the opportunity to see women as the main characters in a complex international thriller like this.”

“This is a wake-up call for anybody who cares about America, the world,” Clinton said in an interview about “State of Terror” last year.

The book follows the secretary of state character “Ellen Adams” who is forced to stop a terror plot after a Trump-like president named “Eric Dunn” screws everything up. Adams not only nauseatingly fights off terrorists but faces a series of sexist microaggressions that she defeats with her female staff.

Clinton doesn’t only take aim at former President Donald Trump in the leftist book, she also goes after a Biden-like character who is depicted as a “fool,” according to USA Today. His name is “Doug Williams” in the less-than-captivating thriller.

“So the novel can reasonably be read as settling scores with both the man who beat her — Dunn is not far short of an elected Hannibal Lecter — and the man who then bested him,” The Guardian’s Mark Lawson noted.

Both Clinton and Penny will serve as executive producers as well as consultants on the film. Clinton will produce via her HiddenLight Productions banner founded by Clinton, Sam Branson, and Chelsea Clinton almost three years ago. Gigi Pritzker and Head of Film and TV Rachel Shane will produce for Madison Wells.

Clinton’s anti-Trump fantasies came to fruition during the 2020 presidential campaign when she “hoped” Joe Biden would beat the former president. However, the book evidently is not true to history either mistakenly or by design. The Trumpian character is portrayed as giving Afghanistan away to the Taliban, instead of President Biden who did exactly that. The book also paints the Trump-like character as having profited from scheming foreign governments in an attempt to further smear the former president over “Russian collusion” that has now been very publicly debunked, implicating Clinton in the process.

Clinton claims that the “Ellen Adams” character is loosely based on the personality of former Undersecretary of State Ellen Tauscher, who died in April of 2019. However, it seems far more likely she based the character on herself.
