Epic San Fran school board recall of three members now blamed on … racism, of course!

After an overwhelming rejection of “woke” school policies in the first San Francisco recall in 40 years, in which school board President Gabriela López and members Alison Collins and Faauuga Moliga were ousted, Board of Supervisors President Shamann Walton is playing the blame game: Trump, racism, and “closet Republicans” led to their demise.

No, it wasn’t the school board’s incompetence or their misguided attention on renaming 44 schools while parents battled pandemic lockdowns and virtual learning. It wasn’t the board’s decision to do away with a merit-based admission to one of their district’s top academic high schools in favor of a more racially equitable lottery. And it certainly had nothing to do with questionable lesson plans.

Nope. It was the Orange Man and all the racism that comes with him.

Just days before the historic election, Walton was sure the recall was the result of “conservative values” from people who weren’t registered as Republicans.

“Trump’s election and bold prejudice brought a lot of that out, even in our Democratic and liberal city,” Walton told the San Francisco Chronicle.

“There are a lot of people who do not want people of color making decisions in leadership, even though the voters said that is what they want,” he added.

And Walton isn’t the only one waiving a race card.

López thinks anyone happy to see her go is a white supremacist.

“So if you fight for racial justice, this is the consequence,” she tweeted Thursday. “Don’t be mistaken, white supremacists are enjoying this. And the support of the recall is aligned with this.”

So, apparently, the 108,148 people who voted to oust her — representing 74% of the total vote — in uber-Progressive San Francisco are a bunch of neo-Nazis.

Who knew?

Or, as Twitter responses suggest, people were just tired of seeing their children used as political pawns.

“Schools aren’t recruiting camps for your political activism & children are not your pawns,” replied one user. “I’d say that’s a big reason why you were booted out.”

“Progressives are a cancer in CA, especially in cities like San Francisco,” wrote another. “But you go ahead and blame your failures on white supremacists. Idiot.”

Defense attorney David Wohl tweeted: “When you’ve run out of legitimate arguments you scream ‘White Supremacy is why I was recalled!!!’ How pathetic are you. Thank God you were recalled.”

Even Democratic San Francisco Mayor London Breed supported the recall and was pleased with the outcome.

“The voters of the City have delivered a clear message that the School Board must focus on the essentials of delivering a well-run school system above all else,” she said in a statement following the election. “San Francisco is a city that believes in the value of big ideas, but those ideas must be built on the foundation of a government that does the essentials well.”
