KT McFarland: Media not covering Durham report implicating Team Hillary because they’re ‘in on the con’

The liberal, anti-Trump corporate media is downplaying, if not outright ignoring, a big reveal from Special Counsel John Durham because the news industry was “in on the con.”

That is the assessment of KT McFarland, who was briefly Deputy National Security Advisor under President Donald Trump before her career was derailed by the Russia collusion hoax.

Durham, a former U.S. Attorney, is investigating the origin of the Russia investigation. Over the weekend, the New York Post reported a claim that “Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign paid an internet company to  ‘infiltrate’ servers at Trump Tower and the White House in order to link Donald Trump to Russia,” citing a legal document from Durham’s office.

In an interview on “Fox & Friends” on Monday morning in the clip embedded above from which you can form your own conclusions, co-host Steve Doocy wondered why the Post and the Fox News Channel are, according to him, the only news outlets covering this bombshell.

President Trump also noticed the legacy media omission, as indicated in a Monday morning statement (see below).

“Well, because all the other media was in on the con; they were all in on it,” McFarland succinctly replied, in the context of the bogus, Democrat-promoted narrative.

“They were the ones that did Russia, Russia, Russia. I mean, they destroyed my career, my reputation, cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees with the Mueller investigation. So the media, they don’t want to touch this, because they’re complicit in it. They don’t want to have to be called before a grand jury and have to say where they got the fake story, and why they continue to peddle it,” she added.

In the conversation, Doocy opined that Trump-Russia collusion was fabricated by the failed Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential campaign as a “dirty trick that got out of hand.”

McFarland took it from there, suggesting that impeachment was the end game.

“Here’s what was happening. They were infiltrating the Trump campaign, thinking they were gonna find evidence about Russia. When they didn’t find any evidence about Russia, they made up the story anyway, and then pushed it to the press. But it didn’t just stop with the campaign. It then continued on, as the drumbeat continued on in the press, of Russia, Russia, Russia. So once they lost the election, they were already setting things up to impeach Donald Trump,” she explained.

Neither Durham’s latest filing nor the indictment filed in 2021 concerning attorney Michael Sussman says specifically that anyone infiltrated the White House or Trump Tower servers.

The scandal never would have seen the light of day had Clinton been elected, McFarland implied, and that the Deep State and one of Joe Biden’s key aides have some explaining to do.

“It was supposed to all be buried in the bureaucracy. But I’ve got two big takeaways from all this…number one, what was the role of the United States government in all of this? Did the United States government, the intelligence communities, were they in on it? Did they know about what the Clinton campaign was doing, and then later after the election and in the inauguration, what did they know?” she asked Doocy.

“And then finally, I’ve got a big question about the role Jake Sullivan played. He is currently the national security adviser: The guy who is in charge of dealing with the Afghan withdrawal, with the negotiations with the Chinese, with the impending crisis with Ukraine.

“And, yet, he was the guy who was main guy who spun and made up this fake news story, and then pushed it to the press. Is he ever going to be held accountable?” McFarland wondered.

Doocy also called attention to a Fox News article that claimed that “Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe met with…Durham on more than one occasion and told him there was evidence in intelligence to support the indictments of ‘multiple people’ in his investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe.”

“It sounds like the more we learn, the more rotten the story is,” Doocy asserted.

No one was ever held accountable when the Obama IRS targeted conservative non-profit groups, so it remains to be seen if the Durham probe will result in a meaningful outcome.

Editor’s Note: A BPR tweet has been removed from the original story that stated that the Durham Report confirmed Hillary Clinton’s campaign paid for the hoax information. This has not been proven by anything in the report and was written in error.
