‘The heart of the fight’: MSNBC host roasted over call for even harsher ‘basic public health measures’

With Democrat politicians now surrendering to the reality that their COVID authoritarianism could have severe consequences at the ballot box, leftists who have been the loudest advocates for the punitive restrictions are furious that mask and vaccine mandates are being rolled back in deep blue territory.

One of those who is demanding that even harsher measures be imposed is MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan who took to Twitter with his call for even more masks and mandates and urged President Joe Biden to “bring in a damn vaccine mandate for domestic air travel,” as if any further proof was needed that inside of every liberal there is a fascist screaming to get out.

Hasan, who hosts “The Mehdi Hasan Show” on the network that is locked in a duel with CNN to be the Democratic Party’s most strident propaganda outlet, lost his marbles over the long-overdue rollback of the onerous restrictions that have been a very useful tool for the advancement of the left’s extremist agenda.

In responding to a challenge from Tom Nichols of The Atlantic, who asked what he would suggest as methods to defeat COVID, Hassan wrote:

“Keep mask mandates – especially in schools. Keep vaccine mandates – where possible. Bring in a damn vaccine mandate for domestic air travel via EO. Send out more free high-quality masks & rapid tests on a monthly basis. Tie ‘opening up’ to booster uptake.”

The liberal also threw in a call to “Expand the Supreme Court” for good measure.

Hasan’s unhinged remarks predictably led to backlash with some of the strongest coming from CNN contributor Mary Katharine Ham, who pounced on another tweet from the MSNBC talking head that jabbed the “triggered conservatives and Fox – types who are now all over my mentions” and defending his advocacy for what he called “basic public health measures.”

Ham wrote, “The heart of the fight. Covering your face at school in perpetuity no matter how low-risk you are, a vax passport for interstate travel, 3 shots for everyone bf the gov’t allows people to run their businesses = “basic public health measures?” No.”

Ham also put the wood to a Twitter user who expressed dismay that she had strayed out of her lane.

“When people want to use the power of the state to mask my kids forever and prevent me from patronizing businesses in a free country, THAT WHOLE-ASS LANE IS MINE AND THEN SOME,” she wrote.

Ham added, “It’s a neat feature of the pandemic that it’s always well within the lane of anyone who wants to restrict others’ freedom to do so and argue for it with maximal emotionalism & minimal data. But to protest? OH IM SORRY ARE YOU A SCIENTIST?”

The former Al Jazeera contributor’s insistence on even more draconian action by the federal government led to many of those “triggered conservatives and Fox – types” who proceeded to roast him on a spit — Caution: Adult Language.

Sadly and perhaps even more disturbingly, Hasan is not an outlier on the left and his views are widely represented among the Democratic party’s followers, many of whom have worshipped Dr. Anthony Fauci with a cult-like fervor and even if there is a thorough electoral cleansing, they will always be determined to stomp on the rights of their fellow citizens.
