Dave Smith warns parents being pushed to breaking point: ‘You’re messing with people’s children’

Comedian Dave Smith, frequently seen on Fox News and Fox Business Network, has joined the loud chorus of influential voices warning the ruling class to stop persecuting people, be it parents or truckers, before it’s too late.

Speaking on independent journalist Megyn Kelly’s Sirius XM show this Friday, he first zeroed in on the risks inherent in the ruling class smearing dissenting parents as terrorists.

“You might make that terrorist claim come true at some point. You know, you’re messing with with people’s children. This is something that people will die for. This is not a joke,” he said.

“This is like, if you’re talking about you want to muzzle my child and propagandize them with an ideology that I detest, that is something that is actually worth dying for. And I’m truly concerned about how far they can push good people before they will do things.”

He added that he wasn’t “advocating anything like that.” He was merely warning that pushing parents to their breaking point may not be such a great idea.

As an example of what happens when people are pushed to their breaking point, he drew attention to the growing trucker protests in Canada.

“They were pushed a bit further than the Americans were, so you kind of wonder where people’s breaking points are. And it seems constantly like the ruling elite is flirting with that. Like how far can we push you?” he said.

“What if we destroy your business? What if we say we’re going to propagandize your children to hate you — how far before you finally snap and are like, ‘Well no, we’re doing something about this’? And then of course they’ll call you a terrorist or a racist or whatever the name is.”

And indeed, despite protesting peacefully, the truckers have been smeared as  “insurrectionists,” “white supremacists” and even “terrorists.”

In fairness to the truckers’ critics, their actions are stymieing the flow of goods between the United States and Canada and thus contributing to the supply chain crisis.

But, Smith argued, the ruling class should have known better than to persecute truckers — instead they were too “disconnected” to realize the impact of their policies.

“With Donald Trump carrying the working-class vote, that in itself should have been something to really open people’s eyes … but of course no one wanted to examine that. But the working class in this country and many others across the Western World has been screwed over for decades, and over the last couple years they have absolutely just been decimated,” he said.

He added that the protests therefore are “like a kind of reclaiming of power that the working class has not exercised for a very long time. … I love it. I think it’s wonderful to see them standing up.”

Same with parents, according to Kelly, who is a parent herself.

“Parents have been ticked off about CRT in the schools and the radical trans ideology in the schools and like the totally inappropriate sex messaging for the kids in the schools. And all the while we’re keeping our kids muzzled behind these masks non-stop, when we know it’s bullshit,” she said.

And the ruling class has thus far approached these parents just as they’ve approached the truckers — by smearing them as “racists,” “terrorists,” etc.

“That’s what they do to any parent who speaks up, you know, whether it’s about masking or vaccines or CRT or the trans stuff, and parents, they are at their breaking point, the kids are at their breaking point,” the radio show host noted.

She admitted though that some in the ruling class are easing up by, as an example, finally eliminating school mask mandates:

But many in the ruling class are not bucking, including New York Gov. Kathy Hotchul, who’s eliminated her state’s mask mandate for everybody but children, and Canadian Gov. Justin Trudeau, whose actions have grown so draconian that even liberal comedian Bill Maher just compared him to Hitler a couple days ago.

Nor is U.S. President Joe Biden, who continues to recommend masks for children, and who’s reportedly been urging Trudeau to crack down even harder on the truckers.

“The Biden administration urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government Thursday to use its federal powers to end the truck blockade by Canadians protesting the country’s COVID-19 restrictions,” according to the Associated Press.

While it’s unclear what a total crackdown might look like, journalist Matt Taibbi suspects it’d wind up involving “tear gas, truncheons, or getting Facebook to blame troll farms in Bangladesh for stirring up the ‘discord.'”
