With polls showing that Americans are thoroughly disgusted with the disastrous performance of Joe Biden after only one year in office, a former adviser for Hillary Clinton is suggesting that a gesture needs to be made in order to unify the country and to put a tourniquet on collapsing approval ratings.

On the day when the brutal results of a CNN poll showed that a stunning 56 percent of Americans disapprove of everything that Biden has done, Democrat Mark Penn called for the deeply unpopular leader to change his approach of divisive governance by pardoning non-violent demonstrators who were caught up in the January 6, 2021 chaos at the U.S. Capitol when a protest by Trump supporters went sideways.

Penn, who was the chief strategist and pollster for Clinton’s unsuccessful 2008 presidential campaign, appeared on Fox News on Thursday where he discussed Biden’s atrocious ratings with host Laura Ingraham and that the man who ran on promises of unity but quickly moved to mobilize federal government agencies against the Democratic Party’s political adversaries could “reach out and try to unite the country” with the pardons.

Pointing out that “Democrats made a terrible choice in Joe Biden” Ingraham asked Penn if there was anything that Biden could do now to “stop the bleed of public approval” to salvage his prematurely collapsing presidency.

Penn responded, “Well, this is a pretty dire situation right now. Of course, he could change the staff, reverse the policies, come out with a State of the Union that – as I’ve suggested – maybe even pardon those people who were nonviolent on January 6th and only prosecute violent…violence, and he could really reach out and try to unite the country,” suggesting a move that would infuriate the majority of his own party.

However, he wasn’t optimistic that Biden would act decisively to right the ship.

“But these are all steps that he has no intention of doing, and there’s no evidence whatsoever that he’s been willing to make even the slightest pivot as Bill Clinton did after the 1994 congressional elections,” Penn said in a reference to the “Republican Revolution” that year when the GOP took full control of Congress.

Later in the segment, Ingraham noted that whenever Biden is sent out to do speeches, press conferences, and interviews that his ratings drop even further before turning the floor over to her Democrat guest.

“Well, look, there was a Biden honeymoon, I think it fell apart during the summer with Afghanistan in which people said, well, is he really competent,” Penn said, referring to Biden’s surrender of the country to the terrorist Taliban, “and now you’re in a winter of discontent in which inflation, the economy, immigration, crime, the virus, all of these issues seem out of control, the president in the White House don’t seem in control of any of them and that was capped off today with 7.5% inflation.”

He added, “This is a dire situation if you’re in the White House.

“I have seen something like this before. It does happen to presidents, but they’ve got to act, they got to lead, and we have not seen anything right now that is a recognition of these kinds of numbers and the kind of attitudes and discontent we see in America right now,” he said.

Biden’s abysmal numbers don’t project well for Democrats who may see their one-party rule nullified by angry voters this November when they are predicted to be bludgeoned at the polls, the only question is how big the losses will be and with public dissatisfaction with the nation’s 46th president growing by the day, they could be catastrophic.
