Bannon’s fury: ‘My head’s blowing up’ at ‘coward’ Pence, others ‘ratting out president Trump’ right now

Steve Bannon torched former Vice President Mike Pence as a “stone-cold coward” after Pence’s comments about the 2020 election.

The former Trump campaign manager called Pence out for the “mark of shame” in response to his contention that former President Donald Trump was “wrong” in his view on overturning the results of the presidential race.

Trump has maintained that his vice president could have acted in his position in January 2021 when he presided over the counting of Electoral College votes in Congress as the election was being certified for Joe Biden.

The former president said in a statement this week that the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol should investigate “why Mike Pence did not send back the votes.”

But Pence has defended his actions and came out with a strong rebuff of the former president during remarks in Florida as he was addressing the Federalist Society.

“There are those in our party who believe that as the presiding officer over the joint session of Congress, that I possess unilateral authority to reject Electoral College votes. And I heard this week that President Trump said I had the right to overturn the election,” Pence said.

“But President Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election. The presidency belongs the American people, and the American people alone. And frankly, there’s no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American president,” he added, in a clip that was replayed by Bannon on his “War Room: Pandemic” podcast.

“Wow,” Bannon reacted. “That’s not what President Trump said. What President Trump said is you had the full right to revert back to the states.”

“Pence, you’re going to carry this thing, eventually, to your grave, Okay? Because it is a mark of shame, and you are a stone-cold coward,” he added, continuing to express his shock.

“My head’s blowing up,” Bannon said, calling out Pence’s former Chief of Staff Marc Short and seeming to take a shot at the Koch family who have historically donated to conservatives.

“I can’t take Pence and Marc Short and all these Koch guys ratting out president Trump up on Capitol Hill right now,” Bannon complained, referring to Short’s testimony before the House Select Committee last week investigating the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
