A Canadian province issued a directive on Saturday making some support of the massive truckers “Freedom Convoy” a crime that can award the non-compliant a hefty fine.
Although the Nova Scotia province’s press release about the new directive attempts to characterize it as a simple ban on “highway border blockades,” the order specifically seeks to limit “participating in, financing, organizing, aiding, encouraging, or supporting” the anti-vaccine mandate convoy.
As worded, it could potentially make it illegal for the area’s protestors to even donate to the Freedom Convoy 2022 fund that has already raised over $8 million Canadian dollars to help the truckers with the cost of fuel, food, and lodging as they make their way to Ottawa, Canada in protest of the heavy hand of government over the last two years.
“The directive also applies to people who stop or gather alongside Highway 104, the Nova Scotia-New Brunswick border, or at the Cobequid Pass toll area in support of the 2022 Freedom Convoy, the Atlantic Hold the Line event, or others organized to interfere with traffic,” the mandate reads.
The government plans to impose fines between “$3,000 and $10,000 for individuals” and between “$20,000 to $100,000 for a corporation per incident.”
“I can’t believe they would do that,” convoy organizer and Nova Scotia driver Martin Brodmann told True North on Friday.
But Brodmann wasn’t going to let what many believe is government overreach in the eastern province get him down, noting that “this whole journey has been such an enjoyment” and that it was something “that had to be done.”
According to leftist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the convoy reported to include thousands of truckers and 1.4 million people and may set a world record for the longest truck convoy ever recorded represents the mere “fringe minority.”
“The small fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa who are holding unacceptable views that they are expressing do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for each other, who know of that following the science and stepping up to protect each other is the best way to continue to ensure our freedoms, our rights, our values, as a country,” Trudeau said on Wednesday.
You couldn’t find someone more out of touch with reality than @JustinTrudeau. Millions of Canadians standing in solidarity with hundreds of thousands of truckers standing on guard for thee, but to our PM, we are a “fringe minority” with “unacceptable views”. #cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/lCvDj9D7aF

And it wasn’t that long ago that Trudeau was singing a different tune as he applauded the same truckers at the start of the pandemic who kept working to keep the shelves stocked while many others were isolated at home.

The latest order in Nova Scotia that was issued under the guise of a “state of emergency” although it lacked any reference to Covid, was met with heavy criticism.
What are going to do arrest them or give them all tickets? How about you just try listening to them for a change.

This completely validates the concept of the Freedom Rally. No more Government overreach and changing the rules on a whim to suit their current needs! We demand to have our rights back.

Blocking traffic wasn’t illegal during the BLM riots. I wonder what changed

This is proof that the governments at all levels don’t want to give up their emergency powers anytime soon.

I hope the Truckers take their 18 wheelers and park them all over ottawa and grab their keys and go. Let the government try to move them.
