Fox News host Dan Bongino is 100 percent confident that prominent COVID dissenters such as Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, podcaster Joe Rogan and liberal commentator Bari Weiss will be remembered for being on the “right side” of the COVID issue.
Speaking on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” early Saturday morning, he had nothing but praise for Rodgers in particular.
“I don’t know what having my respect means to anyone, but Aaron Rogers has mine, for whatever that’s worth,” Bongino said, kicking off his remarks.
“But here’s the thing, man. Guys like you and me and Rachel and Will,” he continued, referencing the other members of the panel, “no matter what we say, and we back up our approaches by facts and data, here’s the hard reality — most of the left writes us off, because they just do.”
“They’re living in this prison of the two minds, as [fellow Fox News host Greg] Gutfeld called it — and I think he’s right, you know, he’s absolutely correct. But it’s people with cultural capital like Joe Rogan and Aaron Rodgers who can really make a difference, and I want to applaud it.”
In an interview with ESPN that was published on Friday, Rodgers had demanded to know why the left is so keen on silencing COVID dissenters and smearing the unvaccinated, yet so quiet about pedophiles, terrorists and criminals.
‘Are they censoring terrorists or pedophiles?’ Aaron Rodgers demands accountability in epic interview https://t.co/ommIoxm6Ej

“When the president of the United States says ‘this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated’ … when you say stuff like that, and then you have the CDC … come out and talk about 75% of the COVID deaths have at least four comorbidities, and you still have this fake White House set saying that this is the pandemic of the unvaccinated, that’s not helping the conversation,” he’d said.
“When in the course of human history has the side that’s doing the censoring and trying to shut people up and make them show papers and marginalize a part of the community ever been [the correct side]? We’re censoring dissenting opinions? What are we trying to do — save people from being able to determine the validity on their own or to listen and to think about things and come to their own conclusion? Freedom of speech is dangerous now if it doesn’t align with the mainstream narrative?”
Meanwhile, he’d added, the left sits in silence as pedophiles, criminals and literal terrorists run free across the Internet. That is, of course, when the left isn’t busy PROMOTING them:

“What he said there is correct,” Bongino noted on Fox News this Saturday, responding to Rodgers’ statements.
“I mean, if you were to have a literal checklist of what I need to do to be a fascist totalitarian, what would be the first two things?” he continued, with the idea being that COVID zealots are themselves quintessential fascists.
“Stigmatize people according to collective group characteristics, check, censor any dissenting voices and don’t let them speak, check. You’re like two out of six. You’re a third of the way there, right. I mean, they probably checked the other four too, but what about what he said there is inaccurate?”
Nothing, it would appear, though that hasn’t stopped the COVID zealots on the left from crying foul.
I used to like Rogers

My 81-year old mom, a HUGE football fan, has always disliked him. I defended him before but I had to tell her she’s been right all along.

Aaron Rodgers really made himself hard to root for. His anti-vax nonsense was one thing. His digs yesterday about the President— they were right out of the Fox News talking points. What a colossal disappointment for a player I used to like.

NO, @espn, Aaron Rodgers is not some intellectual gadfly.
He is an egotist (with a good arm) who puts others at risk with his anti-vaxxer, right-wing trolling bullshit.
I’m a lifelong Packers fan, but I will not root for them with Rodgers at the helm.https://t.co/Zju5hK14m4 pic.twitter.com/j9yQhTOLka

Bongino concluded his assessment by drawing attention to another prominent dissenter and a point she’d made a day earlier.
“I was listening to Bari Weiss a little bit before on Bill Maher, and she brought up a great point: People are going to look back on this in 10 or 20 years, our kids and everyone, and I’m telling you, I have zero doubt whatsoever we’re on the right side of this. Zero,” he said.
“And I feel really bad for the kids who are going to have to look back at their parents who masked them up, locked them out of school and are on video and their Twitter account supporting all this crap, while their lives have been flushed down the toilet. I’m not kidding. That’s a really tough thing for your kids to look back and say, ‘Mom, dad, you did this.’ I have kids. Believe me. I’m really confident I’m on the right side of this.”
