Former President Trump denied President Joe Biden’s assertion that he is intimidating the GOP and scoffed at the claim that five Republicans agree with the president but fear Trump could cost them being elected in primaries if they oppose him.

Trump told Fox News during an interview Wednesday evening that he did not intimidate the GOP and that “The party loves me and I love the party.”

During Biden’s widely panned 2-hour-long dumpster fire press conference on Wednesday, the president insinuated that Trump, without mentioning him by name, was intimidating Republicans and keeping them from voting for his agenda.

“Did you ever think that one man out of office could intimidate an entire party?” Biden disingenuously asked, taking a gratuitous swipe at the former president. “Where they are unwilling to take any vote contrary to what he thinks should be taken, for fear of being defeated in the primary?”

“I’ve had five Republican senators talk to me, bump into me, quote, unquote, or sit with me, who told me they agree with whatever I’m talking about to do,” Biden claimed. “But Joe, if I do it, I’m going to be defeated in the primary. We got to break that. That’s got to change.”

Biden would not identify any of the five Republicans by name, telling a reporter that he keeps confidential conversations private, according to Business Insider.

“I did not anticipate there’d be such a stalwart effort to make sure that the most important thing was that President Biden didn’t get anything done,” he remarked.

“Think about this,” Biden continued. “What are Republicans for? What are they for? Name me one thing they’re for.”

Biden was also asked if he was happy with Vice President Kamala Harris’ work on voting rights and whether he would confirm that she would be his running mate in 2024 if he runs for re-election.

“Yes and yes,” he replied.

The president was asked to expound on his answer but declined to do so, instead stating, “No, there’s no need to. I mean, she’s going to be my running mate, number one, and number two, I did put her in charge and she’s doing a good job.”

Trump is “very happy” with a potential Biden-Harris ticket in 2024.

“Oh, he did say that? Good,” Trump said in response to Biden’s confirmation of running with Harris on his ticket, according to Fox News. “Wow,” he emphatically added.

Trump then stated, “I am very happy about that. I am very happy for both of them.”

“Let me say, I am very happy for both of them,” he reiterated.

The former president told Fox News in November that he will formally announce whether he will run for re-election or not in 2024 after the midterms in 2022. The GOP nomination is ostensibly his for the taking, it would seem, and most are convinced that he will run again especially given the mess that Biden and Harris have left in their wake.

Fox News asked Trump on Wednesday whether he will run again and he said he thinks he is “going to make a lot of people happy” with his decision.

“I think you’re going to see a lot of people are going to be very happy,” Trump smilingly commented.

Rather than smearing Trump, Biden seems to have once again stepped in it:
