Virginia lifelong Democrats are so fed up with their party not listening to them that they are crossing over to join the Republican Party in support of newly-elected Governor Glenn Youngkin due to his stance on education and other issues.
On “Fox & Friends First,” three parents from Fairfax County voiced their disgust with the Democrats and explained why they have now turned to the GOP for support. Briana Howard, lifelong Democrat Saundra Davis, and mother of two Bethany Heim were all crystal clear on why they voted for Youngkin during the Virginia gubernatorial race.
“My key focus was education, and I felt like Democrats were not listening to the voices of parents and our concerns throughout the COVID pandemic related to school closures,” Howard candidly told host Griff Jenkins during the segment.
“And Republicans, especially Governor Youngkin, when he was running his campaign, was listening to our voice and made clear action plans to address our concerns,” she added.
Just received this in an email from a mom in Virginia:
"I used to be a Democrat and am now an Independent. I feel betrayed by the Democrat Party and the media outlets that I watched regularly .. They smeared, belittled, & de-humanized parents who simply wanted schools to open"

Davis was in full agreement with Howard on the issue. She said that one of her main concerns was making children a priority when she cast her ballot in the gubernatorial race.
“I would like nothing more to still be a Democrat,” Davis sadly confessed. “Locally my own, the Democratic Committee actually, refused admittance to me recently because of my support for Glenn Youngkin, and putting children first, so I basically have no political home.”
Heim continued the theme of the segment by stressing the importance of quality education and the reopening of schools so students can engage in in-person learning. That’s a subject that was met with strong resistance from her fellow Democrats.
“It was just really frustrating trying to speak to my Democrat representatives,” asserted Heim. “It was like talking to a brick wall because I wanted schools open or some sort of game plan to get schools open… I even want a game plan to get masks off. They treated me as if I was a Republican.”
So far the Virginia Democrats' response to losing a state they won by 10 points in 2020 is to double down on everything they were advocating for before the election?

Youngkin was sworn in over the weekend and immediately instituted a raft of executive orders including the outlawing of Critical Race Theory in Virginia schools. He also revoked the mask mandate in public schools, allowing parents to decide if their children should wear one or not in the classroom. He is the first Republican governor elected in the state since 2009.
“They need to listen to our voices,” Howard admonished. “What I found throughout the school closure is that many of the Democratic candidates that I voted for, they were more concerned of appeasing the teachers’ unions than they were of providing adequate educational services to our students and listening to parents.”
Virginia experienced a “red wave” in 2021 that gifted the Republican Party their largest lead in the state since 1995, according to Fox News.
Democrats should take note of what happened in Virginia – it is a strong indicator for this year’s midterm elections:
LOL. Democrats in Virginia sure are pissed off parents are going to have a say in their children's education.

virginia democrats followed the "do big policy changes" with their trifecta and they still lost. this should inform your opinion of whether congressional democrats doing large policy changes will help them "win" the midterms

Virginia Democrats melting down over the GOP takeover in Richmond is something to behold. They seem not to realize that Youngkin, Sears, & Miyares are here for 4 years, not 4 days 😂😂😂

Democrats are learning the hard way that the best way to unite the country is to come for our children.
Virginia was just the opening act.

I can tell some Virginia Democrats weren’t prepared of the possibility of a Republican governor.

I didn’t realize how terrible The Virginia senate democrats are

If they're not teaching CRT in Virginia schools like the democrats claim, then why are the democrats so pissed off that Governor Youngkin issued an executive order saying they can't do it? 🤔
