In Virginia, the Fairfax County Public Schools’ curriculum is employing the disturbing and biased use of “privilege” bingo where children are awarded points if they are white, male, Christian, a military kid, employed, or “feel represented in the media.”
Parents were shocked, according to the Daily Wire, when they saw the “Military Kid” designation and were quick to point out that the so-called “privilege” includes military families having to constantly move and children not seeing at least one of their parents for prolonged periods of time. They also risk losing a parent or becoming orphans altogether.
Outraged parents who complained about the “privilege” bingo game were sent a note by Assistant Superintendent Douglas A. Tyson justifying the abhorrent practice.
“The screen shot you reference comes from an approved FCPS English Curriculum lesson that is centered around students selecting a ‘choice’ test and examining in detail the author’s perspective on a wide-range [sic] of issues. Students are asked, in the lesson, to read critically and think critically about the author’s perspective on several fronts including the author’s privilege that may or may not be present in the work,” the note read.
“Students are then asked independently and self reflectively to juxtapose their thoughts regarding any perceived privilege they think they may have and how they would potentially rewrite portions of the text. Students are not asked or required to report out their self-reflections. This lesson is an adept vehicle to push student thinking to challenge the author’s thoughts/conclusions and to sharpen their ability to critically lead selected texts,” the memo contended.
They play ‘bingo’ with their ‘privilege’ under the guise of learning English.

The practice is even more disgusting considering that Fairfax County, which is located near the Pentagon, is home to a large number of military families. Parents asserted that even though Fairfax Country receives supplemental funding for educating military families, many refused to turn in the form that would award them the extra money this year because of perceived hatred towards those serving their country or because of frustration with other failures of the school system as a whole.
A school board member named Abrar Omeish aggressively opposed a resolution in September honoring the victims of the 9/11 attacks on the 20th anniversary. His father was on the board of the mosque that the 9/11 hijackers attended. This is just one outrageous outpoint that shows how twisted the Fairfax County Public Schools system has become. Critical Race Theory is another example.
Newly-elected Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin issued an executive order on his first day in office that bans “inherently divisive concepts” that presume “that some students are consciously or unconsciously racist, sexist, or oppressive, and that other students are victims. This denies our students the opportunity to gain important facts, core knowledge, formulate their own opinions, and to think for themselves. Our children deserve far better from their education than to be told what to think.”
Unfortunately, the order only applies to state curriculum and actions from the Virginia Department of Education. It does not mandate what individual school districts can or can’t teach. But Youngkin may rectify that situation as his order stipulates that it is only the “first step on Day One,” and it contends that treating people differently based on race is a violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Schools that put forth content such as “privilege” bingo could soon be seen as violating that act.
The game was torched on social media:
So being mentally healthy is a privilege?

"We don't teach #CRT," says union teachers like @dpwalrod. Meanwhile today at @OaktonHS, students are asked to identify their "privilege" which includes being white or an English speaker or being from a military family. Keep in mind @USArmy is Fairfax County's largest employer. pic.twitter.com/mUucclrIK4

This is getting more disgusting by the day/hour/minute. 😠

We would love for a teacher to explain to us why children should be made to feel guilty for having married parents. And how this is a school topic. @dpwalrod?

Military privilege? Where the highest enlisted E9 ($69k) make less than the Fairfax physics teacher ($93k) who doesn’t understand science and won’t teach kids without a mask. I’d love to know how much this teacher is making.

They hate the military until its time to collect those military impact forms so they can collect extra dollars for their school. Privilege? These people are sick and have no place in our schools

Yeah. Being a military kid that has to move every 2-3 years or having a parent be gone for months at a time, wondering if they are safe is absolutely privileged. This is disgusting

Being from a military family is a ‘privilege?’
Whoever came up with this offensive BS needs to be identified, then they need to meet with actual military families who have lost a loved ones. Then the woke JERKS need to APOLOGIZE for this GARBAGE.
