Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton ended up with egg on her face after an attempt to shame “the white moderate” using a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Without naming names, Clinton shared the “subtweet” on Twitter Friday, and it went terribly wrong as she ended up under fire from even those on the left for her stunning lack of self-awareness.
Clinton’s post came as Democrats and liberals shredded Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin for not backing the elimination of the Senate filibuster. The Democrat lawmakers have continued to come under fire, slammed as racists and bigots for their stand which prevents the party from passing a federal election overhaul bill.
“MLK Jr. said: ‘I had hoped that the white moderate would understand that law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice, and that when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress.’ This is a subtweet.” Clinton tweeted Friday, without directly naming anyone.

But it quickly became clear that the former secretary of state did not get the response she was looking for.
Twitter users, including many on the left, ripped into Clinton for quoting MLK and for her passive-aggressive attempt to call out others.

Most of the criticism came from Clinton’s oblivious failure to see herself in the mirror.

The good things about Hillary variants is they’re more annoying but much less contagious each time a new one pops up. https://t.co/6lqX0KmSVF
