Tucker blasts DOJ over ‘absurdly false’ claims involving Ray Epps and his alleged role in Jan 6

When it comes to the Department of Justice and one Ray Epps, there are many more questions than answers. In fact, if asked whether or not Ray Epps is even a sentient being, the response from the mendacious G-men and women of the DOJ would likely be, “We can’t answer that.”

Senate Republicans have been trying to determine what role, if any, Epps and the FBI played in what Fox News’ Tucker Carlson calls the “Fedsurrection” of Jan. 6, and the agency’s unwillingness to answer the most basic and direct questions only amplifies the suspicion of foul play operating at the highest bureaucratic tiers.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) – who is earnestly working to get back in the good graces of conservatives after referring to the Capitol riot as a “violent, terrorist attack” – did his best to extract some answers from Jill Sanborn, the executive assistant director of the National Security Branch on Tuesday.

Carlson related the exchange on the network’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Tuesday.

According to Carlson:

Cruz asked, quote: ‘did any FBI agents or confidential informants commit crimes of violence on January 6th?’ The obvious answer is ‘are you kidding? Come on now, of course the FBI isn’t secretly committing crimes of violence – that’s insane! We are a federal law enforcement agency, we’re not the Tonton Macoute. Next question please.’

That’s what Jill Sanborn should have said, but that’s not what she said. Instead she replied, quote: ‘I can’t answer that.’

But of Course Jill Sanborn can answer that – and she should be forced to answer that immediately – no sources or methods would be revealed, just answer the question – did they participate in violence or not? why is that hard?

That tells you a lot.

U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton wondered how the DOJ’s top national security official could “really not answer basic questions” about January 6.

Epps was just recently suspect number 16 on the FBI’s Most Wanted list in connection to the Jan 6 riot but mysteriously disappeared from it without any explanation from authorities.

Whoops.

Then – in what can be described any number of ways, though Hail Mary comes to mind – the kangaroo court known as the Jan. 6 Commission posted a tweet claiming that they know all about Ray Epps and have for some time. Don’t you worry about him. They got this.

Notice the language: “Epps informed us …” rather than “We have concluded …”

Carlson wasn’t buying it either.

“That’s absurdly false, and as if to underscore how absurdly false it is, within a short time [after the testimony] Democrats on the January 6th committee released a statement claiming that – actually – they had already interviewed Ray Epps, and anyone who still has questions about his behavior on January 5th or 6th is a dangerous conspiracy theorist.

When exactly, and under what circumstances did the committee talk to Ray Epps? Supposedly this interview was conducted in secret this last November. If that is true – we don’t know that it is, but let’s say that it is – Then why did the committee wait months to tell us today in a tweet? When the committee got its hands on Mark Meadows’ text messages, we seem to remember they leaked those to the media within hours.”

The weepy Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) who has consistently appeared to be indelibly traumatized by the events of Jan. 6, suddenly now refers to Ray Epps as “just a protest attendee.”

From FBI’s Most Wanted to “attendee” in the blink of an eye.

Insurrections require institutional power in order to be successful, and the political prisoners now being held by the Biden regime did not have any. Time will tell if the typically weak-kneed Republicans can get the answers that the American people deserve, for if Ray Epps and others were indeed working against the people and for the DOJ, wouldn’t that be the real insurrection?
