‘She’s 13!’ LGBTQ Nation accused of ‘exploiting’ Ted Cruz’s daughter for politics, gets a blue check boost

A multiple award-winning producer and executive named Evan Shapiro came to the defense of LGBTQ Nation which ran a thinly veiled political hit piece against Senator Ted Cruz and his 13-year-old daughter Caroline ostensibly outing her as bisexual.

Contributing editor for The American Conservative, Sohrab Ahmari, tweeted in response to the article, “She’s 13, barely out of her tween years. You despicable perverts.”

To which Shapiro replied, “Cruz’ daughter is way more emotionally mature than her dad. Cancùn Cruz has endangered lives of Queer & Trans people w hate speech. Ted ‘digitally altered her photo for the family Christmas card to make her look more conservative.’ Sorry Sohrab, what was your deplorable point?”

LGBTQ Nation’s blatant attempt at weaponizing the sexuality of a 13-year-old girl for political gain is seen by many as not only disturbing and disgusting but downright evil. Twitchy referred to Shapiro and LGBTQ Nation as “human garbage” concerning the attack.

According to LGBTQ Nation, Cruz’s daughter made a TikTok video to gripe about her father’s conservative politics and to declare herself as being bisexual. After the video went viral, she made her account private.

“A lot of people judge me based upon him at first glance,” she said. “But I really disagree with most of his views.”

When asked about her bisexuality, Caroline Cruz reportedly replied, “I haven’t told him yet, I’m kind of nervous about it tbh but I don’t think he would be mad about it.”

There was a time in politics that children under 18 were off-limits. Not so much anymore evidently.

Ian Miles Cheong commented on Twitter what many are thinking concerning this degraded attack, “She’s a child. What the hell is wrong with you?”

“What is wrong with you? Leave minors out of your reporting for political agendas,” another critic commented.

“Don’t write stories about 13 year olds. Respect her privacy,” yet another admonished.

“Dude…zero articles need to be about 13 year olds and their sexual orientation. Please delete,” another wrote.

“The same people who said stories on Obama’s college-aged daughter were off limits now have no problem reporting on Ted Cruz’s 13 year old daughter,” Daily Wire pundit Cabot Phillips stated.

“Ted Cruz’s daughter is 13 years old. This is exploitation of a minor and disgusting ethical malpractice on the part of the media. Stop this. Leave her alone,” Meghan McCain demanded as well.

“This publication just outted a 13 year old girl who said she hadn’t told other people… This publication is evil,” Senior Analyst at Club for Growth Andrew Follett angrily tweeted.
