Popular podcaster Tim Pool was in the middle of a broadcast of his “Timcast” show when he was “swatted” by several police officers who raided his studio after getting a prank call that two people had been shot and killed on the premises.

The caller also claimed that he was going to kill more people and himself if he wasn’t stopped.

Pool’s studio is at his home and he commented that he had many employees on-site when the incident occurred.

“We had multiple agencies. We believe three different agencies. We had local city cops, we had the sheriff, and we had state police here. We are lucky. We are very lucky,” Pool stated on Instagram.

The show continued despite the raid. Pool was very upset that the raid took place, “I do not like cops coming into my house when we have mats all over the place that say ‘come back with a warrant.’”

The podcaster went on to say that he didn’t want to blame the police and that they were apologetic and very polite during the raid.

“I don’t want to drag them or be mean to them because they were polite but I’m not happy with the idea that they are walking into the studio while we are live… they’re walking around,” Pool remarked.

The police told Pool that they intended to do a sweep of his property and he asked them to come back with a warrant. He also noted that someone let them in the door because the police cited exigent circumstances. Former police officer Brandon Tatum, who was a guest on the show at the time of the raid, did an excellent job of explaining what constitutes exigent circumstances.

All of Pool’s producers who engaged with the police complied with their orders. When the officers were asked to leave they reportedly did so after quickly checking the premises.

One of Pool’s panelists condemned whoever made the report, calling it “extremely dangerous” and “reckless,” and pointed out that police raids in the past “have led to a lot of innocent people dying, dogs being shot, people being shot.”

After the incident, Pool claimed on Twitter that security footage showed “maybe [eight] vehicles” were involved in the raid and that it was “worse than we realized.”

“Fortunately our CTO was outside as they drove up and deescalated the situation,” he tweeted and promised to upload footage of the raid on Friday.

Swatting is a serious and dangerous crime that carries a felony charge and significant jail time. It is used to threaten and intimidate individuals and can easily end in tragedy. Pool reportedly does not know who “swatted” him and the police evidently don’t either. He does however have suspicions and this may not be over.

Some are speculating that the prank occurred because Pool had Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on his show Wednesday who is a lightning rod for controversy.

“When you have someone like MTG on you generate a lot of attention,” remarked Pool. “Obviously the establishment really despises her and the activists really hate her. I don’t think she had anything to do with it, but it put us on the radar.”

The “swatting” incident set Twitter on fire:
