Vice President Kamala Harris took center stage on Thursday morning at the Capitol Building and outrageously compared the one-year anniversary of Jan. 6 with infamous dates such as the Pearl Harbor attack and the 9/11 terror attacks where thousands died.

As part of a day-long leftist celebration of the Capitol Hill riot, the Statuary Room was transformed into a TV set and an entire agenda was set to shame former President Trump and the right over the events of that day with Harris and Biden leading the way.

“Certain dates echo throughout history,” Harris proclaimed. “Including dates that instantly remind all who have lived them where they were and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault. Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendar but a place in our collective memory. Dec. 7, 1941, Sept. 11, 2001, and Jan. 6, 2021.”

She claimed that protesters sought to attack “the institutions, the values, the ideals that generations of Americans have marched, picketed, and shed blood to establish and defend.”

“On Jan. 6 we all saw what our nation would look like if the forces who seek to dismantle our democracy are successful: the lawlessness, the violence, the chaos,” she solemnly intoned.

She didn’t stop there. Harris went on to claim that those whom she contends threatened the nation that day are still a threat to the American way of life, stating that “what was at stake then and now is the right to have our future decided the way that the Constitution describes it by We The People.”

“The violent assault that took place here, the very fact of how close we came to an election overturned, that reflects the fragility of democracy,” Harris continued.

The vice president remarked that the events of Jan. 6 reflect both the “fragility” and “strength” of American democracy. She went on to praise the lawmakers from both parties who returned after the riot to finish the vote counting for their “resolve” and “loyalty.”

“I wonder, how will Jan. 6 will be remembered in the years ahead? Will it be remembered as a moment that accelerated the unraveling of the oldest, greatest democracy in the world, or a moment when we decided to secure and strengthen our democracy for generations to come?” Harris disingenuously asked.

“The American spirit is being tested,” she ironically warned. “The answer to whether we will meet that test resides where it always has resided in our country, with you.”

She also recounted her own version of events that day, describing how her staff was “converting filing cabinets into barricades” after she and other lawmakers were evacuated from the Senate and House chambers.

Harris also called for the passage of voting rights bills that have stalled in the Senate. If that happened, it would ostensibly federalize elections giving the government full control.

President Biden marked the anniversary with a speech crafted for his leftist base, rebuking the violence and former President Trump’s alleged attempts to overthrow the 2020 presidential election that brought Biden to power.

“We will make sure the will of the people is heard,” Biden declared. “That the battle prevails, not violence. That the authority of this nation will always be peacefully transferred. I believe the power of the presidency is to unite this nation, to lift us up, not tear us apart.”

The president warned that democracy is at risk, dramatically asking, “Are we going to be a nation that lives by the light of the truth but in the shadow of lies?”
