The so-called controversy over Grammy-winning music producer David Foster proudly sharing a bikini photo of “hot wife” Katharine McPhee after she gave birth to their son in February continues to have life on social media.
The latest installment involved Foster’s daughters Sara and Erin, who took to Instagram in support of their stepmother, praising McPhee for having pride in her body.
McPhee, an “American Idol” runner-up, responded early on herself, essentially telling people to get a life.
“I’m sorry but we are not sorry,” she posted on her Instagram page, before noting that she “struggled with weight my whole 20s and 30,” as most people do.
“I lost this baby weight without dieting. Zero. Diets are the worst and I’ve had zero pressure from anyone,” she wrote. “I’ve let me body do its thing and found a great workout. That’s it. And guess what? I’ll probably gain weight again at some point too. Who cares? BUT people freaking out about what my husband captioned seriously get a life… Stop being so offended by what people post who have zero impact on your life and move on.”

Erin, 39, echoed that sentiment, responding to that post to tell critics to back off.
“If I can accept my stepmom looking like this, you certainly should be able to,” Erin wrote. “The photo wasn’t altered or filtered and she’s had no surgery. You can’t shame someone for feeling cute after a baby whether she’s sharing stretch marks or a six pack. Let her live.”
Sara, 40, was even more outspoken.
“If you [would have] had cellulite and stretch marks in the photo and the caption was exactly the same we would all be celebrating his post. But you don’t and that’s not allowed to be celebrated,” she told McPhee. “Also, you had a baby almost a year ago, not yesterday.”
“You have been working your ass off in the gym,” she continued. “Let’s complain about women and husbands who post 3 week postpartum pics with their full body lipo, filters and altering apps that make us all feel like shit. People are crazy.”
While Foster has had five children from prior marriages, the February birth of Rennie was McPhee’s first child. She talked about being a new mom in an interview with People magazine.
“It just feels so natural,” the singer and actress said. “I’ve had a really good baby; he’s been so good. I’m so in love!”
Erin and Sara Foster just opened their first actual store for their women’s clothing brand, Favorite Daughter, in Beverly Hills on Dec. 13, just in time for the Christmas shopping season.
“The reason we chose Beverly Hills for our store location is that we want to appeal to women who want to be at the center of fashion, but don’t always feel included in it because of price point,” the Fosters told the Beverly Hills Courier. “We want someone to be able to come to a store right smack in the middle of Beverly Hills and feel part of the fashion culture, if they want to be.”
