So far, it hasn’t been the season of COVID pestilence that President Joe Biden warned Americans about in December. In fact, the Omicron variant has turned out to be everything that Biden and his beloved Dr. Anthony Fauci said it wouldn’t be.

It is, however, becoming a season of malignant insanity, and one that shows no signs of abatement.

Will Cain filled in for Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday to detail the widespread panic that seems to be coming from only one side of the political spectrum, particularly from the party in power and their loyal subjects in the media.

Self-described “Fauci groupie” Nicolle Wallace, who routinely showcases her denseness on MSNBC, just Tuesday said that she buys N95 masks “by the caseload,” as panelists in split-screen nodded their heads with approval, co-signing Wallace’s imbecility.

Then there are the increasing cases of in-flight skirmishes between airline passengers as well as between passengers and crew members. Most recently, former “Baywatch” actress and Playboy model Patricia Cornwall was taken from a Delta Airlines flight and placed into FBI custody after she allegedly assaulted an 80-year old man for the grave sin of pulling his mask down to eat and drink. Naturally, she wasn’t wearing a mask when she accosted the octogenarian, apparently ignoring the medical consensus that elderly people are the most vulnerable to the COVID virus.

And then there’s Oprah Winfrey.

The media mogul shamed her friend Gayle King on social media for not adhering to “The Policy” that Winfrey has implemented for anyone who wishes to be granted access to her palatial estate. King was disallowed from attending a celebration for her own grandson that Oprah was hosting.

“Everyone who is spending Christmas at my house has to be vaccinated, boosted, tested, and quarantined. Stedman calls it ‘The Policy’ cause I’m that serious about it. This was release day for our bubble and we knew we had to throw a welcome celebration for Baby Luca, who none of us had met yet! We missed his grandma Gayle King but she’ll join us once she completes the policy!” she posted.

When it comes to the rich and famous believing they can isolate themselves from the world and become immortal, they clearly haven’t read much Edgar Allen Poe …

Cain concluded that elected officials only “fan the flames” of COVID insanity by engaging in overt political theater. The Bidens, for instance, were just recently photographed walking along a Delaware Beach, alone but donning masks. This, after President “Buck Stops With Me” Biden announced to the nation Monday that there is no federal solution to the COVID-19 pandemic, then promptly left for a New Year’s holiday vacation.

“At the center of all of this is the need for liberals to project their own virtue,” Cain said.

Given the apparent unwillingness of the government to release the stranglehold it has on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the question is: Will 2022 be better than 2021?
