‘Insulting’: Biden staffers fume over ‘beyond demoralizing’ life at WH, bucked from Christmas events

President Joe Biden’s lower-level aides reportedly have the sads and are considering leaving their jobs because of what appears to be a lack of appreciation and respect. This was revealed in an exposé published by Politico on Wednesday.

“Working at the White House may be a unique gig. But like many other employers, staffers there are experiencing their fair share of burnout. As with many workplaces, more people are working remotely and communication is often done virtually rather than in person, making it more difficult to create an office culture,” the piece reads.

The aides have attempted “to try and build camaraderie,” but their efforts have failed, and they claim that the president’s longtime aides — the bigwigs, per se — are to blame.

The top aides run the White House in an insular, top-heavy way and maintain distance from the lower-level aides, they told Politico.

“No new friends in Biden world,” is apparently how they describe it.

But it gets worse. The aides say that they were only allowed to participate in the White House’s Independence Day party if they volunteered like indentured servants.

“[M]ost White House staff could only attend if they worked as unpaid volunteers staffing the event, per an email from White House operations sent at the time and shared with us,” according to Politico.

Things were slightly better for Thanksgiving when attendance was reportedly doled out based on a lottery system. In this instance, some aides got to attend without having to roll up their sleeves. But the keyword there is some.

“The White House also used a lottery to dole out time slots for holidays tours this week, setting aside three days when staffers could bring their family members to see the building’s elaborate Christmas decor,” Politico noted.

Staffers were “understanding of the restrictions, until White House Operations asked for volunteers to staff five extra days of tours for non-White House staff.”

This made them angry.

“Some staffers fumed as ‘D.C. Randos’ posted White House pictures across social media this week, believing that White House staff should have been taken care of first,” according to Politico.

“No one expects business as usual during the pandemic, but it’s beyond demoralizing, it’s insulting — especially when you see DNC and Hill staff and other D.C. types get invited,” one anonymous aide told the outlet.

“Many colleagues have brought this up to me unprompted. And I’ve had D.C. friends ask me if I wanted to grab coffee after they attended. Meanwhile, we work here, and most of us haven’t worked here before or stepped foot into the White House,” the aide added.

In fairness to the Biden administration, many note this is how Democrats have always operated — by seeming to treat their allies and those who are useful to them well and everybody else — the commoners, per se — like trash.

“It’s also hypocritical and ironic that a president whose brand is built on empathy and family has staff policies that fly in the face of that brand. It’s not a good look and it’s emblematic of how this place runs,” the aide added.

It also appears to be emblematic of the adage that talk is cheap …

Politico’s report is one of several published in recent months that have portrayed the Biden White House as anything other than kind and empathetic.

Over the summer, Politico reported that the vice president’s staff members and aides were being “treated like s–t.”

“People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment. It’s not a healthy environment, and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s–t,” one source told the outlet.

At the time, blame was directed at Harris’s chief of staff, Tina Flourney, whom aides described as an overbearing woman who didn’t tolerate dissenting ideas, who allegedly blamed everybody else but herself when things went badly, and who reportedly tried to keep the VP sheltered from reality.

But earlier this month, The Washington Post published a report suggesting that Harris herself may also be an issue. The paper noted that even before she became vice president, she had a habit of not reading her briefing materials and then later complaining to her aides that she’s unprepared.

“It’s clear that you’re not working with somebody who is willing to do the prep and the work. With Kamala, you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence. So you’re constantly sort of propping up a bully and it’s not really clear why,” one former staffer told the Post.

Being a low-level member of this administration apparently requires being underappreciated and putting up with a lot of bullschiff …
