And just like that…White women fail at their own woke storyline and viewers agree

Op-ed views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

Let’s be honest, everyone wanted to see Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte decades after they were single in their twenties all grown up.

The cosmos, the clothes, the next generation… They put designers, restaurants and trends on the map.

We knew something would be different without Samantha.

But, we didn’t think that the changes would include embarrassing words and situations that even Democrat followers are upset about.

I’m not talking about Big’s death. Although, while many are pointing out that Carrie didn’t call 911, the real question is being that there are now shortages of essential workers and law enforcement, how long would it have taken them to come?  And, we’re these emergency medical workers vaccinated and masked?

I’m pointing to the lack of accuracy and facts about New York in 2021.

Did you see one mask worn? How about a realistic view of Manhattan today.  A minority of people are eating out at expensive dinners.  New York unemployment is lagging the rest of the country in jobs.  Not too many people are dressing up for dinner.

Does Charlotte represent any mothers you know buying expensive designer dresses like she walks her dog?

I can’t watch Miranda anymore.  I find her the worst!

It’s a good thing Cynthia Nixon aka Miranda Hobbs did not become Governor in New York in 2018.  While Andrew Cuomo and now Kathy Hochul certainly have proven to be questionable leaders, it takes less than forty minutes of the new HBO Max series, And Just Like That… to watch her prove white people who support Black Lives Matter and every anti-American policy are filled with guilt and awkwardness and are pushing their insecurities on all of us.

As a white woman, I don’t have to keep apologizing to my black friends.  I lost my job for protecting poor black and Hispanic children in failing schools and abusive families. I don’t have to embarrass myself with members of the LGBTQ community the way she did at Big’s funeral.  And the hearing impaired should question her lack of sympathy for Steve.

The Subway Attack

In episode two, Miranda becomes a “superhero” as she spontaneously hits a robber trying to grab her professor’s handbag with her “old fashioned” hardcover textbook.

Teenage Sex

Does anyone believe that Miranda is really upset stepping on her son’s used condom.  Miranda was just as promiscuous as Samantha.

Miranda’s portrayer, Cynthia Nixon is one of the most public New York figures supporting Black Lives Matter, Defund the Police and more funding for failing Public Schools. (The attacker looked like they were a kid with a mask). The curriculum she supports includes teaching oral and anal sex to elementary school students against the wishes of parents.

Nixon has endorsed the candidates of New York Democratic Socialists, Bernie Sanders for President and most recently, Zephyr Teachout for Attorney General (Teachout dropped out of the race shortly after Tish James dropped out of the gubernatorial race).

Nixon has been married to Christine Marinoni, a prominent LGBTQ rights and education advocate, since 2012. They belong to the synagogue where Randi Weingarten’s wife, Sharon Kleinbaum of Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, is rabbi.

All three women are executive producers of the series and have input to scripts, character development and casting.

Stop insulting us, your audience, stop promoting your political agenda and call it entertainment.

Republicans and conservatives have done more for these minorities by actually working with them.  Could you imagine the press if Miranda Hobbs was portrayed by a Trump-supporting actress?

There would be a congressional hearing or punishment of an insurrection.

It’s going to be a long season, “absofreakinlutely.”
