A woman who works for the grocery-delivery service Instacart allegedly ran over an elderly Minnesota couple’s groceries because of the “Thank You Blaine PD” sign on their front lawn.
On Jan. 6th the couple reportedly ordered groceries from Cub Foods, a grocery chain that operates in Minnesota and Illinois, according to a press release from the Blaine Police Department.
Once they received a notification that an Instacart driver named Tara had arrived with their order, they rushed outside to meet her out of concern that she might get stuck in their un-shoveled driveway.
But upon stepping outside, they found her screaming at them from her car to check the Christmas wreath on their porch. They did as directed and found a note containing a derogatory message.
Seen in the Facebook post below posted by the elderly couple’s relatives, the note read, “Instacart doesn’t pay employees sory find another slave f–k the racist police pigs.”

The couple then looked for the groceries, only to find them lying on the driveway, with telltale signs indicating Tara had run them over before driving away.
The couple was reportedly devastated.
“Tara probably doesn’t know how carefully those $50 in groceries were budgeted for. Or how devastating the recent medical diagnosis has been. Or how scared and vulnerable her vile act of hatred made them feel,” the Facebook post above reads.
In response to the act of hate, the couple’s relatives set up a GoFundMe fundraiser that was already up to $11,000 and counting as of this Wednesday.

The Facebook post from the couple’s relatives notes that they never expected such an “outpouring of support, not just from family and friends, but from complete strangers.”
The post also acknowledges that there has been some additional hate from people who’ve claimed the story is made up.
“I am truly sorry for those that have been trolling this post and have been sending icky private messages. Your lack of trust is heartbreaking. I can assure you that this story is absolutely true and very personal to my family and I. Thank you all again. And Happy Holiday,” the post reads.
The good news is that Tara has been axed.
“Instacart has taken this very seriously and have assured us that Tara will no longer be working for them,” the Facebook post notes.
Instacart confirmed this in a statement to the press as well.
“We’re appalled by the unacceptable actions of this shopper, who has been removed from the Instacart platform as a result. We’ve been in direct contact with the customers to refund their order and provide additional resources. We’ll continue to provide support to the impacted customers and will also work directly with local law enforcement on any investigations into this matter,” the statement read.

The Daily Mail has obtained what it claims is a screenshot of the receipt that the elderly couple were mailed after the botched delivery. The screenshot purports to show a photo of Tara. Unsurprisingly to some, she has purple hair.

Now that’s a red flag!
Love you PD and Support you PD!
Shame on these purple headed animals disguise as people attacking people for supporting heros everyday putting their lives at risk for us! #FuckTARAhttps://t.co/OgiNJsuBma pic.twitter.com/iNa1rhxpkQ— Don’t have one! (@mrnobody29876) December 14, 2021
Below, meanwhile, is a screenshot of what critics claim is her Facebook account:
During a press conference, Blaine Police Department chief Brian Podany said that he understands that some people dislike the police — he just wishes they wouldn’t take their irrational hatred out on the innocent, as reported by station KMSP.
“We’re law enforcement. We get not everybody likes us, we understand that. But don’t take that out on innocent people out there, especially people who are trying to contribute to this person’s livelihood,” he said.
And FYI, Instacart does pay its drivers.
According to pay details shared on Glassdoor, Instacart drivers across the country earn anywhere from $15 to $18 per hour.
But given that Tara appears to be a far-leftist, it’s no shocker that to her, $15 to $18 per hour is “nothing” …
And it’s likewise no shocker that virulently anti-police Twitter accounts appear to support her:

Despite all the evidence, including confirmation of the crime from local police, who according to reports are looking to charge Tara with misdemeanors, there are still some who say it’s all made-up — a part of a grand “right wing conspiracy,” if you will:
I just figured out why @BlainePoliceMN put out a press release on a, if it even it happen, minor crime.
It gets attention. It is national news. Blaine’s police chief is related to the former county sheriff, and the current sheriff is not seeking re-election.

This is a damn campaign stunt. Even if it did happen the way they say it did (it didn’t), there was zero need to publicize it.
But this riles up law enforcement, and supporters for his soon to be announced run.
