Janice Dean, the Fox News senior meteorologist, took to Twitter Sunday morning to respond to a report that ex-CNN anchor Chris Cuomo and big brother Andrew Cuomo’s top aides tried to discredit her.

The younger Cuomo supposedly referred to Dean, an outspoken critic of the Democrat politician, as “that Fox weather b*tch” in a text message in the context of an alleged attempt to smear her as a “far-right crazy.”

“This won’t stop my mission on behalf of thousands of families, but it has opened my eyes to how the powerful will do anything to protect themselves,” Dean vowed this morning.

For a long time, Dean was the only person demanding accountability from disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Emmy-Award winner over allegations that he sent thousands of COVID-positive patients into nursing homes and then his Department of Health covered up the extent of the resulting fatalities which tragically included Dean’s in-laws. The revelations were contained in a report released by New York’s Attorney General Letitia James.

Sexual harassment allegations forced Andrew to resign from office in August, and CNN fired the already-suspended Chris Cuomo on December 4, at least in part, for concealing how much he was involved behind the scenes in fending off the accusations, based on documents released by AG James, who briefly considered entering the Democrat primary against Cuomo’s successor Kathy Hochul, the former lieutenant governor, before deciding to seek reelection to her current office.

Two sexual harassment complaints against Chris Cuomo may also have played a role in his departure.

Dean also explained on the social media platform that the liberal corporate media generally, which gave Andrew Cuomo, a.k.a. the Luv Guv, fawning coverage during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, also sought to undermine her credibility.

“The story for me has always been about trying to find answers and accountability as to what happened in New York nursing homes in the spring of 2020 and why Cuomo and his administration tried to cover it up. It’s a shame that many tried to dig up information to try and demean me through my profession (‘weather girl’) where I work (Fox News) and who I voted for.

“Sadly, it wasn’t just the Cuomo team, but blue checks and reporters scouring through tweets and articles I’ve written in the past to support their own beliefs and a political narrative.

“This won’t stop my mission on behalf of thousands of families, but it has opened my eyes to how the powerful will do anything to protect themselves, those around them, and to what lengths they will go to silence the people who question their motivations and deadly decisions.”

In a Fox News op-ed in which she lauded the end of “the Cuomo Brothers Comedy Hour,” Dean recalled that it was those backslapping CNN interviews, particularly one where they clowned around with a giant cotton swab prop, that infuriated her under the circumstances and prompted her to go public.

That was the tipping point. Thousands of seniors were dying in New York nursing homes, where staff could not turn away or test incoming infected patients. We were all quarantined and couldn’t have wakes or funerals for my husband’s parents after they tragically died in their long-term care facilities.

Yet, these two clowns – Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his brother, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo – were yucking it up on cable television.

And I am so grateful it happened.

It was the very next day that I decided to share my family’s story on Tucker Carlson’s show.

Had the Cuomos both done the job they were hired to do – Chris reporting the news and Andrew governing the state of New York – this day when they are now both out of work would never have come.

And now it seems, both brothers are cut from the same cloth: accused of abusing their power to smear others and sexually harass the women they worked with…

What has happened is starting to feel like justice. It’s not over yet. There are still several investigations that have yet to be completed by the FBI and the Justice Department. I believe there will be criminal charges.

So, our fight isn’t over yet.

But I am grateful that what made me speak out a year and a half ago – seeing those two brothers on television joking around while so many of us were deep with despair – will never ever happen again.

In an appearance on Fox & Friends last week embedded above, Dean admitted that her “grief turn to rage” when she saw the Cuomos arrogantly bantering about the big cotton swab “where nursing homes could not get tests to test incoming infected patients. And we now know that Andrew Cuomo admitted, or his administration admitted, over 9,000 COVID-positive patients. I saw those guys joking around as body bags are being piled up outside of nursing homes, and that’s when I said, ‘it’s time I tell my story,’ because nobody else is covering it.”

Dean also claimed that Andrew Cuomo’s five-million-dollar deal for a staff-written book touting his so-called leadership during the height of the pandemic “was one of the reasons why he covered up over 15,000 nursing-home victims…they turned the executive chambers into a book publishing company…and that is against the law in New York State.”

Acknowledging that nothing can bring back her mother- and father-in-law, she noted that “We still need to find out why did he put COVID-positive patients into nursing homes, why did he cover up those numbers, why did he give out friends and family COVID tests, to Chris Cuomo, when nursing homes couldn’t get them to literally save lives. So there’s so many answers we need to get to the bottom of.”

She also insisted that “liar” Chris Cuomo “was actively trying to smear these women that come forward against his brother.”

If journalism ethics is still a viable concept rather than an oxymoron, Chris Cuomo presumably had the option of taking a leave of absence from CNN while he tried to help the governor salvage his political career.
