On the brink: Carlson says US gains nothing if Biden pushed into ‘hot war’ with Russia to better approval ratings

Is the United States on the brink of war with Russia? Don’t discount it.

“Just because something seems far-fetched, seems crazy, or seems totally destructive to core American interests doesn’t mean the U.S. government won’t do it. That’s the main lesson at the moment we’re living in,” Fox News host Tucker Carlson said.

President Joe Biden and his administration may be so desperate to improve his plunging approval numbers that staging an armed conflict might be inevitable, claimed Carlson who spoke on the issue Tuesday night during his “Tucker Carlson Tonight” monologue.

The popular Fox News host warned that Biden is so weak and such a “pawn of his staff and the hard-eyed ideologues who surround him,” that he may be pushed into a “hot war” over Russia’s ongoing border dispute with Ukraine. Carlson warned that a conflict with the Kremlin would be disastrous.

The crisis, he said, was created by Biden’s aides and others like them at all levels of government in Washington. Briefly outlining the Kremlin’s point of view, he said Russia has no intention of invading Western Europe. Carlson contended that a U.S. and NATO attempted takeover of Ukraine would be disastrous, as the former Soviet Union will go to any lengths to avoid losing access to Sevastopol, one of its primary naval bases which sits on the Black Sea at the edge of the Crimea.

Carlson warned this manufactured fight would have no benefit for the U.S., either. American troops would be defeated if we “challenged Russia on its doorstep.” And it would only drive the Kremlin deeper “into the arms of China.” And should a losing U.S. — or Russian — military consider employing nuclear weapons, it could easily mean the end of the known world.

So, Carlson asked, “What is this really about? Of course, it’s not about ‘democracy,’ for which they have zero respect.”

He surmised that the escalating turmoil is partly a “hangover” from the three years of a “lunatic Russia hoax that absorbed Washington” and persuaded Biden and everyone else that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a soulless bad guy. On top of that, Carlson noted, there are also “millions of lobbying dollars being pumped into Washington from Ukrainian interests to sway American foreign policy. ”

The irony of it all, he noted, is that suddenly actors such as Victoria Nuland, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, are pushing for war to defend Ukraine’s democracy, even though just a few years ago she was advocating for an overthrow of its current president.

“No serious person could take Victoria Nuland seriously. She’s a joke,” Carlson said. “Not only is she obviously unimpressive as a person, ask anyone who knows her, and she’s not especially pro-American, by the way, she’s one of the architects of the disaster in Iraq. So why is Toria Nuland still talking about foreign policy?”

Despite the growing war drums in Washington, Carlson said there is really only one question that matters: “How does intervening in Ukraine help the core interests of the United States? And of course, that is the one question no one in Washington is asking.”
