A library in Fairfax Co., Virginia fashioned a holiday reading display that featured the now-infamous books “Gender Queer” and “Lawn Boy” and placed them right next to the Holy Bible, prompting blowback from residents which resulted in the subsequent removal of the display.

“The Dolley Madison Library holiday reading display was intended to highlight the freedom to read and the fact that many library patrons have more time during the holidays to do so,” Fairfax County Public Library Director Jessica Hudson told Fox News in a statement Tuesday. “It was not the intention of staff to create a display that could be construed as offensive. The display has been removed.”

The display featured gnomes dressed in holiday attire, each paired with a book. The gnomes paired with “Lawn Boy” and “Gender Queer” had bees on each of their stocking-hats, while the gnome with the Bible was adorned with a very on-the-nose rainbow-colored hat. Around the display were printed quotes from other controversial books, such as Salman Rushdie’s “The Satanic Verses.”

“Lawn Boy,” by Jonathan Evison, is said to include graphic descriptions of a 10-year-old’s sexual activities, while “Gender Queer” by Maia Kobabe, includes photos of sexual acts between a young boy and a man. Outraged parents were able to have the books pulled temporarily from school libraries in the county, but two committees decided the books did not in fact contain pornography or pedophilia and reinstated the books to library shelves in November.

“It’s so outrageously offensive,” Stacy Langton, the Fairfax County mother who had previously confronted the school board, told Fox News in an interview on Tuesday. “It was intentional, it was meant to be offensive,” Langton said, adding that it was “pretty brazen.” She said she spoke with library staff on Tuesday afternoon and was informed that library manager Mary Prisbrey had approved the display.

“The timing on this – it’s an intentional dig,” she said. “It’s a dig on the parents who object to pornography and pedophilia-themed materials in the library, and it’s a dig on Christians as a whole. I think everybody knows where Jesus stands on pedophilia.”

“They’re saying that we’re not entitled to want a library space that is free of porn and pedophilia,” Langton said.

“The tolerant Left is giving you guys some holiday hate,” she quipped. “Merry Christmas, taxpayers of Fairfax County, Merry Christmas.”

Langton told the outlet that a protest has been planned for noon Saturday outside Dolley Madison Public Library.

When contacted for comment by Fox News, library manager Prisbrey unsurprisingly declined and referred the outlet to the library’s marketing director.

Fairfax county, VA refuses to stay out of the light of controversy, and along with Loudoun Co., VA is one of the epicenters of the clash between heavy-handed school boards and parents who demand their kids learn reading, writing and arithmetic, and not be subjected to the ideological madness of the Left.

Reactions from Twitter were mostly in support of Langton and her continuing fight in a culture war that besieges everyday life in America.

But, there’s always one lamebrain who’s never read the Constitution but wishes to invoke it for a strawman argument:
