The Biden administration has brazenly held secret meetings with newsroom executives to persuade them to give a favorable spin on the economy while the Washington Post has come up with a laughable story that the President is being treated worse in the press than Trump was.

National Economic Council Deputy Directors David Kamin and Bharat Ramamurti, along with Ports Envoy John Porcari, have been actively “briefing major newsrooms over the past week,” according to CNN’s media correspondent, Oliver Darcy.

Darcy wrote in his newsletter that the nudging was due to concerns that Biden was not being treated fairly by the media. Evidently, they are not falling in line the way they are supposed to over the economy.

“The White House, not happy with the news media’s coverage of the supply chain and economy, has been working behind the scenes trying to reshape coverage in its favor,” reported Darcy’s “Reliable Sources.”

“The officials have been discussing with newsrooms trends pertaining to job creation, economic growth, supply chains, and more. The basic argument that has been made: That the country’s economy is in much better shape than it was last year. I’m told the conversations have been productive, with anchors and reporters and producers getting to talk with the officials,” Darcy noted.

Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank had previously written a propaganda piece entitled, “The media treats Biden as badly as — or worse than — Trump. Here’s proof.”

He claims to have grown suspicious over the torrent of negative headlines aimed at Biden. So, he commissioned an artificial intelligence study to determine how bad the press was maligning the President. Milbank tasked Forge.ai to examine 65 news websites to do a “sentiment analysis” of the 200,000 articles by searching for adjectives. He disingenuously claims the data proves that Biden is being treated worse than the former President was.

“The findings… confirmed my fear: My colleagues in the media are serving as accessories to the murder of democracy,” Milbank wrote. “After a honeymoon of slightly positive coverage in the first three months of the year, Biden’s press for the past four months has been as bad as — and for a time worse than — the coverage Trump received for the same four months of 2020.”

“Sure, Biden has had his troubles, with the Delta variant, Afghanistan and inflation,” he stated on CNN. “But the economy is rebounding impressively, he has signed major legislation, and he has restored some measure of decency, calm and respect for democratic institutions.”

“August was the turning point,” he told CNN host Brianna Keilar. “Biden’s coverage was more favorable than Trump’s before then. There was that honeymoon. Even as things have generally improved since then, the coverage has not improved.”

“It’s not bias. It’s the actual words we’re using. So we are as negative as a collective media on Joe Biden, if not more so than we were to Donald Trump at a time when he was trying to overthrow democracy. That is a tremendous indictment of the whole industry,” Milbank added.

He went on to outrageously assert to Keilar that journalists working in the U.S. need “to do soul searching and see what we are delivering to people.”

“There’s a real problem when we are being just as adversarial because a guy doesn’t pass a bill, as we are when a guy is trying to overthrow democracy,” Milbank contended while clearly claiming the media was not acting as a propaganda machine nearly enough for the Biden White House.

“We need a skeptical, independent press. But how about being partisans for democracy? The country is in an existential struggle between self-governance and an authoritarian alternative. And we in the news media, collectively, have given equal, if not slightly more favorable, treatment to the authoritarians…. Too many journalists are caught in a mindless neutrality between democracy and its saboteurs, between fact and fiction. It’s time to take a stand,” Milbank wrote.

The White House of course applauded his sycophancy. Biden’s Chief of Staff Ron Klein tweeted the Washington Post article with the comment, “Submitted for your consideration.”

White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates and White House Senior Associate Communications Director Matt Hill applauded the piece. Hill tweeted, “No comment. Just a good read.”

Americans now appear to feel that the media is a mouthpiece for the administration and is being controlled by the Democrats.

“Biden’s policies are so popular that he’s begging the msm to do a better job at lying about it,’ tweeted one man.

“Biden’s handlers meeting with the msm asking for a better spin on his policies and a more positive image of him. All they do it lie,” another wrote.

Another tweeted, “The left says that the MSM is harder on Biden than Trump…”
