Fox News political commentator Geraldo Rivera adoringly praised Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Wednesday, claiming that she “outshines” her congressional colleagues because of her “eloquence and passionate sincerity.”

“Say what you want about her politics, @AOC Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez outshines every other member of Congress in eloquence and passionate sincerity,” Rivera tweeted.

Not everyone was so enamored with Ocasio-Cortez’s dramatic outbursts and less than intellectually-inspired attacks against those on the right. Blaze Media host Steven Crowder was among them.

“This is a stupid tweet and you should feel stupid for having tweeted it,” Crowder admonished Rivera displaying his disrespect for all-things Ocasio-Cortez.

Rivera’s gushing praise followed Ocasio-Cortez’s speech on the House floor excoriating Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) for sending out an anime video via Twitter that depicts himself as a hero dispatching the young socialist. Democrats have censured Gosar and stripped him of his committee assignments over the video.

Ocasio-Cortez railed against House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Republicans on Wednesday from the House floor for not condemning Gosar’s cartoon video.

“It is a sad day in which a member who leads a political party in the United States of America cannot bring themselves to say that issuing a depiction of murdering a member of Congress is wrong, and instead decides to venture off into a tangent about gas prices and inflation. What is so hard? What is so hard about saying that this is wrong?” she chided Republicans.

“This nihilism runs deep,” she continued.

“It conveys and betrays a certain contempt for the meaning and importance of our work here. That what we do, so long as we claim that it is a joke, doesn’t matter. That what we say here doesn’t matter. That our actions every day as elected leaders in the United States of America doesn’t matter. That this chamber and what happens in it doesn’t matter … And I’m here to rise to say that it does,” Ocasio-Cortez dramatically proclaimed.

“As leaders in this country, when we incite violence with depictions against our colleagues, that trickles down into violence in this country. And that is where we must draw the line independence of party identity or belief,” she ranted. “Does anyone in this chamber find this behavior acceptable? Would you allow depictions of violence against women, against colleagues? Would you allow that in your home? Do you think this should happen on a school board? In a city council? In a church? If it’s not acceptable there, why should it be accepted here?”

She asserted in butchered phrasing that it was part of a trend of “of misogyny, and racial misogyny, racist misogyny.”

“This is not about me. This is not about Representative Gosar. But this is about what we are willing to accept,” she said after using every Democratic talking point, catchphrase, and rehearsed vocabulary she could find.

The young progressive Democrat has served in Congress since 2018. She has been a lightning rod for political controversy and many, many of her statements are undisputedly cringeworthy. Many would argue that Ocasio-Cortez has accomplished very little during her time in the House of Representatives.

Rivera’s glowing assessment of Ocasio-Cortez was mocked and shredded by those on social media.

“If Geraldo were 50 years younger and female, he would BE AOC. Dumb as a rock, shallow as a pie plate and completely devoid of self-awareness, they are truly kindred spirits,” Gerry Callahan, host of the Callahan Show, tweeted.

“She has as much eloquence and sincerity as the treasures you found in Al Capone’s vault,” another commenter tweeted.

“You are embarrassing your own mustache,” performer Chanah Angelica Kamen wrote.

Americans just aren’t that into Ocasio-Cortez and, unlike Geraldo Rivera, they are certainly less-than-impressed with her intellectual prowess:
