Hemingway shreds media over ignoring ‘huge percentages of Americans worried about Biden’s mental decline’

Conservative Mollie Hemingway savaged corporate media and Democrats for ignoring how nearly half of Americans feel about President Biden’s rapidly declining mental and physical health.
“Apart from corporate media and other Democrat strongholds, huge percentages of Americans worried about Biden’s mental decline,” the senior editor at The Federalist bluntly tweeted. That concern has been there since Biden campaigned for the presidency, but it has exponentially grown as Americans have watched in real-time Biden’s very public cognitive decline.
Hemingway was responding to a Politico story on the results of a POLITICO/Morning Consult poll showing “[v]oters have increasing doubts about the health and mental fitness of President Joe Biden, the oldest man ever sworn into the White House.”
The poll shows that only 40 percent of voters believe that Biden “is in good health” while 50 percent think he isn’t. To put that into perspective, it is a stunning 29-point shift since October 2020, when Morning Consult last asked the question and found voters believed Biden was in good health by a 19-point margin. Even the left can no longer deny there is a problem with the President of the United States.

A slim majority of Americans, according to the poll, think that Biden is unfit mentally for the presidency with 48 percent stating he’s not fit compared to the 46 percent who think he is. But that 2-point margin, taken into context compared to October’s numbers, shows a shocking decline in Americans’ faith that Biden is all there. In October, they said he was cognitively fit by a 21-point margin.
Biden will turn 79 on Saturday. There is huge doubt that he will run for another term and Vice President Kamala Harris’ numbers are even worse than Biden’s. Democrats are seriously concerned over the party’s gerontocracy.
Americans are alarmed by Biden’s verbal gaffes, his dismissal of reporters and refusing to take questions, his heavy-handed politics, and ignoring what Americans are going through as his policies cause shortages and economic upheaval.
President Biden’s approval rating is now at a shocking 33 percent according to an Iowa poll that was released on Wednesday. That’s down from 47 percent in March in Iowa.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ approval rating is 28 percent according to a USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll.
The media is claiming that the alarm over Biden’s mental acuity is primarily coming from conservative news outlets and social media, but Politico proves otherwise.
“They’re running a very aggressive campaign on this, and it’s bleeding over into the mainstream a little,” Celinda Lake, a Democratic pollster who has surveyed for Biden, asserted. “By and large, the people who believe this are Trump supporters anyway or they’ve been exposed to the right-wing disinformation machine.”
The Politico poll shows that Trump voters and Republicans generally believe Biden is neither physically nor mentally fit. Biden voters tend to believe the opposite. However, Independents don’t think Biden is mentally fit at all. That sentiment is indicated by a margin of 23 points which portends very bad things for Democrats.
The poll also shows that 44 percent of those interviewed give Biden a positive job approval rating but 53 percent disapprove. That is vastly different from the Iowa poll which many consider more unbiased than the one from Politico.
A recent Harvard-Harris poll also found that 53 percent of voters said they had doubts about Biden’s mental fitness while 47 percent did not. Asked if Biden is too old to be president, 58 percent said he was and 42 percent said he wasn’t.
The Morning Consult poll had other disturbing findings. It noted that voters said Biden wasn’t a clear communicator by 20 points, he lacked energy by 26 points, and he wasn’t a strong leader by 17 points.
“When you watch Biden, you get a sense that he’s just missing a beat, that he’s not what he once was,” Republican pollster Neil Newhouse said. “Voters are picking up on it.”
“Biden is definitely slow on a lot of things. I’m not sure if it is because of his age, or if he’s still going after 30 decades ago,” one poll respondent joked, according to a transcript. Asked if she would support Biden in 2024, the woman said, “If he’s alive. I’m just saying.”
The POLITICO/Morning Consult poll was conducted on Nov. 13-15, surveying 1,998 registered voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points.
