Elmo, Big Bird and friends bashed for peddling pro-COVID vaccine propaganda to impressionable kids

Sesame Street has been accused of using its beloved characters to peddle pro-COVID vaccine propaganda to impressionable children.

All weekend long the show’s characters have been proselytizing to children about the benefits of the coronavirus vaccine. Missing from their proselytizing has been any mention of the most serious side effects of the vaccines: myocarditis and pericarditis.

The proselytizing began with a COVID “Sesame Street town hall for families” that aired Saturday morning from 8:30 am to 9:00 am.

Multiple Muppets — including Elmo, Big Bird, Granny Bird, Super Grover, etc. — appeared with CNN’s Erica R. Hill and Dr. Sanjay Gupta, in addition to Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, to answer questions about the coronavirus vaccine:

Yet a transcript of the town hall shows that, although side effects were briefly spoken about, neither myocarditis nor pericarditis were mentioned once, despite the known risks that these potentially deadly conditions pose to young COVID vaccine takers.

According to a data sheet from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration published in late October, while the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in particular is expected to “prevent COVID-19 ICU stays” for 67 out of a million male children between the ages of five and 11, it’s expected to produce 57 stays because of myocarditis and/or pericarditis.

The Muppets doubled down on their proselytizing following the town hall by posting tweets announcing their vaccination status and downplaying potential side effects.

“I got the COVID-19 vaccine today! My wing is feeling a little sore, but it’ll give my body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy. Ms. @EricaRHill even said I’ve been getting vaccines since I was a little bird. I had no idea!” Big Bird tweeted.

“Well this stinks. Apparently, the COVID-19 vaccines won’t make you feel grouchy at all! That’s what @KizzyPhD said at today’s town hall, anyway. You might get a sore arm and feel tired, so at least there’s that,” Oscar the Grouch added.

The tweets above provoked the most outrage, likely because CNN’s ratings are so low that only a few people even saw the town hall.

Leading the charge was Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who slammed Big Bird in particular for his “government propaganda.”

This triggered radical left-wing activists like David Hogg into throwing fits, which in turn inspired the senator to note that liberal priorities are “weird.”

Below is more backlash against Big Bird and his friends:

All this comes as the establishment left in media, government and Hollywood is facing a crisis in trust because of its repeat habit of lying to the American people.

Whether it’s about critical race theory, ivermectin or the coronavirus vaccine, the establishment left has a demonstrable habit of only telling one side of the story — namely the side that fits its agenda.

And in regard to the vaccine, its agenda is clear: Everybody must be vaccinated, regardless of their age, and even if they’re allergic to it …
