Southwest Airlines ‘Let’s go, Brandon!’ claim may not be all it’s cracked up to be according to social media sleuths
Associated Press reporter Colleen Long claimed over the weekend that a Southwest Airlines pilot on her flight signed off with “Let’s go, Brandon!” but the audio being passed around with her story seems to have some major inconsistencies.
First off, according to Twitchy, there is real doubt as to whether the pilot said “Let’s go, Brandon!” or “Let’s go, Braves!” because the audio is clipped. But the media ran with the much more controversial “Let’s go, Brandon!” pretty much on the word of an AP reporter.
The recording being sent around with the story is reportedly from earlier this month so it could not have been on Long’s flight, according to Washington Examiner senior commentator Becket Adams: “***hold up, guys*** the audio included that New York Post story dates back to at least Oct. 12. See date on this tweet … the Associated Press reporter claims she heard her pilot say ‘LGB’ on **Oct. 29**.”

Also in defense of airline I was asking them to open locked cock pit and probably sounded insane!

The media erupted over the story and even Forbes linked the TikTok video to the AP reporter, according to The Spectator Contributing Editor Stephen L. Miller, who noted in response to Becket’s tweet, “Forbes article today ( 30 mins ago) says her article is the same audio you’ve noted. Strange goings on.”

The Washington Post is reporting that passengers cheered and jeered the pilot over the alleged statement but again there is no tangible evidence that has been provided to back this assertion up.
It appears there is no audio as of right now connected to Long’s report via the Associated Press. There is also no confirmation that she stormed the cockpit demanding entry. She claims the pilot’s statement drew “audible gasps from some passengers” on the flight from Houston to Albuquerque.
There is no released audio from the AP reporter, or Southwest who says they are still investigating. This is all based on one reporters allegation.

The connecting of the alleged video and Long’s claims has created a great deal of confusion out there.
There is a lot of confusion about this going around. The tiktok of the pilot, who appears to be saying "Lets Go Braves" is from October 11th. It's not the same instance as the allegation made by the AP reporter, which she claims she heard on her flight on 10/29. https://t.co/ZhKKTpScb9

Because of the reporter’s claim, boycotts are being called for and the pilot is now under investigation. The pilot has not been identified yet.
Several outlets got this wrong. Same pilot? Could be? Separate instances? Maybe! AP reporter mishearing what the pilot said while attempting to storm the cockpit? Maybe also! Twitter demanding to fire a pilot based on one uncorroborated accusation? Of course!

In a statement posted on social media Sunday, Southwest Airlines asserted that the company “takes pride in providing a welcoming, comfortable, safe and respectful environment for the millions of customers who fly with us each year.”
The airline stressed that it “does not condone employees sharing their personal political opinions while on the job serving our Customers,” also noting that “one employee’s individual perspective should not be interpreted as the viewpoint of Southwest and its collective 54,000 employees.”
“Southwest is conducting an internal investigation into the recently reported event and will address the situation directly with any employee involved while continuing to remind all employees that public expression of personal opinions while on duty is unacceptable,” the statement added.
“Southwest does not tolerate any behavior that encourages divisiveness, as it does not reflect the Southwest hospitality and inclusiveness for which we are known and strive to provide each day on every flight,” the airline concluded.

Social media is still ablaze after the alleged incident:
If a single pilot sharing a political opinion you don’t agree with on a flight that you aren’t on sends you into a tizzy, you should imagine what it must be like when the entire corporate universe does this for months on end on countless issues.
Some of us don’t have to imagine.

my money’s on the Pilot, I don’t believe any reporter

Has anyone but the reporter actually confirmed? Any other passengers? Flight crew? One single person? It seems to me the reporter would have gotten react quotes from passengers, no? But hey I don’t journalism

All based on one delicate leftist snowflake “journalist’s” allegation.

To the unhinged left, the Southwest pilot is indistinguishable from Kyle Rittenhouse.

Its ok. She’s a sophisticated propagandist for the Biden regime. You know; an American journalist.
