Tucker Carlson: Dems ‘happy to use armed agents’ to enforce radical ideology, vilify engaged parents

Tucker Carlson is calling out the Biden administration for smearing concerned, grassroots parents from all backgrounds who show up at school board meetings to speak out against “medically unnecessary” mask mandates or divisive critical race theory curriculum as “domestic terrorists.”

Instead of prioritizing the fight against actual physical crime, such as the surging murder rate in the country, “It is now criminal to disagree with your kid’s school,” the host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” declared on Tuesday evening, and in this context, Democrats are “happy to use armed agents of the state to enforce their ideology.”

Carlson was reacting to an announcement from U.S. Attorney General and would-be Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland that the FBI would take steps to address the alleged increase in harassment or intimidation, and even threats of violence, against school board members and others in the education sector.

The Fox News host began one of his nightly signature monologues by playing a clip of self-avowed teacher-loving Democrat Terry McAuliffe, who is seeking the Virginia governorship for the second time, grandstanding during a debate about how taxpaying parents should have no say in their children’s education.

“This is the new rule. The government makes all key decisions about your children. That’s not just true in the state of Virginia. It is now orthodoxy throughout the entire Democratic Party. And as of yesterday, this idea, unprecedented in the history of America, has the full backing of the Biden administration, in other words, of the entire federal government, and if you disagree with that…you should know the Biden administration now views you as a domestic terrorist, and they are fully willing to use armed agents of the state to compel you to shut up. Joe Biden’s Justice Department has made that very, very clear…” Carlson asserted.

“At this exact moment that Garland wrote [his memo], we learned that murders in the United States since the advent of Black Lives Matter have gone up 30%. So that’s thousands more dead people. This is the attorney general, our chief law enforcement officer. He did not issue a memo about that. He issued instead a memo about people who are committing wrongthink,” Carlson added.

This is what might be deemed a teachable moment, to use one of the liberals’ favorite terms, Carlson implied.

“What have we learned from this? Well, among other things, we’ve learned the Biden administration no longer believes in the most basic precepts of liberal democracy. Among them, your freedom of speech should never be abridged, the government must convince you, not compel you almost always, and you and not the government is in charge of your children. Merrick Garland did not give birth to your kids; they’re yours, not his…

“So school administrators are now a protected group. If you disagree with them, you’re committing a ‘hate crime,’ not voicing an opinion, which is constitutionally protected. No; it’s an act of violence to disagree with them,” he added.

He also noted that kids and teens are dying from various maladies, but COVID isn’t one of them.

Recall that the corporate media, along with Democrats and many Republicans, portrayed Garland as a moderate when he was tapped for the high court by Obama, a nomination that then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) declined to act upon. The seat later went to Trump nominee Neil Gorsuch.

In March 2021, the U.S. Senate confirmed Garland’s AG nomination by a vote of 70-30. Carlson quipped that Garland has turned out to be “a wild-eyed, radical crazy person.”

The DOJ initiative comes upon a complaint from the National School Boards Association, which Carlson claimed is a big donor to the Democrats (as are the teachers’ unions) that the federal government get involved.

Although the Loudoun County, Va., school board has made headlines primarily for its stubborn obsession with identity politics and far-left indoctrination, one of its many counterparts in, for example, Palm Beach County, Fla. — which has defied an executive order issued by Gov. Ron DeSantis that banned mask mandates in schools — is perhaps giving it a run for its money.

Later in the commentary, Carlson claimed that even as Team Biden appears to equate parents exercising their First Amendment rights with criminality, “actual criminality, actual violence, actual murders, not metaphorical violence, hate crimes, but real violence, where people shoot each other and die, is rising dramatically faster than it ever has in American history.”

“What’s the Biden administration doing about this? Nothing…” he said.
