New York’s largest healthcare provider reportedly boots 1,400 employees over vax refusal

The largest private healthcare provider in New York has fired around 1,400 employees who refused to get a COVID-19 vaccine, Fox News reported.

Northwell Health confirmed on Monday that it “had to exit” the offenders, though it reported that many who had previously resisted the vaccine did submit to it in order to keep their jobs. The company says they now have 100 percent compliance among the employees who are left.

“Northwell regrets losing any employee under such circumstances, but as health care professionals and members of the largest health care provider in the state, we understand our unique responsibility to protect the health of our patients and each other,” a Northwell spokesperson said, according to Fox News. “We owe it to our staff, our patients, and the communities we serve to be 100% vaccinated against COVID-19.”

The spokesperson added that the new paradigm will enable Northwell to “provide exceptional care at all of our facilities, without interruption and remain open and fully operational.”

“Northwell believes that having a fully vaccinated workforce is an important measure in our duty to protect the health and safety of our staff, our patients and the communities we serve,” she said.

In September, the city of New York began increasing the pressure on government and healthcare workers to get vaccinated. As such, hospitals have been steadily removing workers for failing to comply with the state-mandated deadline that came and went on Sep. 27th. Gov. Kathy Hochul recently beseeched the holdouts to get vaccinated.

“To those who have not yet made that decision, please do the right thing,” Hochul said at a press briefing. “A lot of your employers are anxious to just give you the jab in the arm and say you’re part of the family, we need your help to continue on.”

Hochul previously made headlines after she gave a creepy church lecture wherein she pronounced that unvaccinated people simply aren’t listening to God. Speaking during a service at the Brooklyn Christian Cultural Center, Hochul said, “We are not through this pandemic. I wished we were but I prayed a lot to God during this time and you know what – God did answer our prayers. He made the smartest men and women, the scientists, the doctors, the researchers – he made them come up with a vaccine.”

She called on vaccinated “apostles” to go forth and spread the word to the great unwashed.

“All of you, yes, I know you’re vaccinated, you’re the smart ones, but you know there’s people out there who aren’t listening to God and what God wants,” Hochul appealed. “You know who they are.”

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson recently referred to the governor as “the leader of the New York archdiocese of the coronacult.” He also pointed out that she wore a small gold necklace with the word “vaxed,” looking perversely similar to the simple golden cross necklaces many Christians wear.

Employees who refuse to get the shot will not only face suspension or termination but will also forfeit their right to unemployment benefits unless they have a doctor-approved request for medical accommodation.

Conversely, religious exemptions don’t seem to have a place in Hochul’s mythology. She declared earlier in September that religious exemptions are non-existent.

“I’m not aware of a sanctioned religious exemption from any organized religion, in fact, they are encouraging the opposite,” Hochul said. “Everybody from the pope on down is encouraging people to get vaccinated.”

New York nurses Karen Downey and her daughter, Alyssa, recently told “Fox & Friends” about their religious objections to the COVID vaccine and how it has affected their jobs.
