Fact checkers flag OBITUARY as ‘misleading’ after it linked young mother’s death to COVID-19 vaccine

Twitter initially slapped a “misleading” label on a tweet that linked to an obituary of a mother of two who purportedly died from complications related to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Twitter user Kelly Bee, who shared the obit online, subsequently indicated that the social media platform removed the labeling but is still allegedly shadow-banning the tweet to prevent its reach.

According to the death notice published on Oregon Live, “Jessica Berg Wilson, 37, of Seattle, Wash., passed away unexpectedly Sept. 7, 2021 from COVID-19 Vaccine-Induced Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia (VITT)…Jessica was an exceptionally healthy and vibrant 37-year-old young mother with no underlying health conditions.”

The obit goes on to explain that, “She had been vehemently opposed to taking the vaccine, knowing she was in good health and of a young age and thus not at risk for serious illness. In her mind, the known and unknown risks of the unproven vaccine were more of a threat.”

The obit also implies that Wilson only agreed to get the jab so that she could volunteer as a “room mom” at the school attended by her two children, ages three and five.

A mandate in effect in Washington state under Democrat Gov. Jay Inslee requires the COVID vax for those working in K-12 and in childcare, among various other sectors. Many Americans are pro-vaccine, however, but at the same time oppose government mandates that they believe infringe on individual freedom.

Thrombotic thrombocytopenia is a rare blood disorder that leads to blood clots throughout the body and reportedly often occurs in females in the age 20-50 range. According to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “This adverse event is rare, occurring at a rate of about 7 per 1 million vaccinated women between 18 and 49 years old. For women 50 years and older and men of all ages, this adverse event is even more rare.”

The CDC indicates that this condition manifests itself in just one of the vaccine options; the obituary did not indicate which one Jessica Berg Wilson received. The CDC otherwise says that “COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.”

Along with the corporate media, Big Tech generally frowns upon discussions about the safety or efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine regimen and takes steps to tamp them down.

Twitter also originally linked the tweet to an article that explained “why health officials consider COVID-19 safe for most people.”

Various conservative luminaries called out Twitter for censorship in the way it “fact-checked” the initial tweet, which may have convinced the left-leaning platform to remove the advisory notice.

Responses to the follow-up tweet are still coming in. Here is a sampling of both:
