Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) appeared on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle” to discuss the Biden administration’s new efforts at the country’s southern border– not to deal with the exploding migrant crisis, but to push a COVID-19 vaccine mandate that one whistleblower says could result in the termination of Border Patrol Agents who refuse to comply.
“The whistleblower told us that the Border Patrol was given official notice that if Border Patrol Agents don’t get the vaccine by November of this year, so six weeks from now– if they don’t get the vaccine, they’re going to be fired,” Jordan told host Laura Ingraham.
“So meanwhile, today, we had a briefing from [Department of Homeland Security] Secretary Mayorkas. We asked him what’s happening with this flood of migrants coming across the border relative to the vaccine, and he said ‘We asked them if they want it. It’s their choice.’ So think about that, the people who’ve been busting their tails enforcing our laws on the border, they’re going to get fired if they don’t take the vaccine. Meanwhile, for people who break the law and come in here– ‘No big deal, it’s your choice, it’s up to you,'” the congressman explained.
The Biden administration appears to have no concern for its own agents or the welfare of the citizens it is supposed to represent. Just last week, the president of the United States perpetuated the false accusation that border patrol officers were “whipping” migrants at the southern border.

“That is how ridiculous the Biden administration has become. These people who just a year ago– like doctors and nurses and police officers– were heroes, now they’re saying you’re going to lose your job if you don’t take a vaccine. The same vaccine that Kamala Harris said that she wouldn’t take a year ago. This is ridiculous and the American people know it’s ridiculous,” Jordan added.
Ingraham noted the nursing, police, and border patrol shortages plaguing the country at present, no thanks to vaccine mandates like this. In fact, one June report from the National Treasury Employees Union found that Customs and Border Patrol’s own workload staffing model found a shortage of 1,700 Border Patrol agents and that was before the vaccine mandate.
Jordan pointed to the administration’s efforts to halt border wall construction, stop the “Remain in Mexico” policy, and fire agents as a way to undermine CBP.
“They were already shorthanded and [the mandate] is going to make the problem worse across the board in hospitals, police departments, and on our southern border. The only conclusion relative to the border that you can reach is this is intentional, this is deliberate…If that isn’t this goal of a borderless hemisphere and if that isn’t deliberate, I don’t know what is,” the congressman argued.
In August, Chris Cabrera, a vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Fox News that “day in and day out” CBP officers are forced to allow migrants who test positive for the virus into the U.S.
Freedoms that belong to American citizens have willingly been handed by Democrats to criminals who broke the law to enter the United States while forcing Americans to comply with heavy-handed government mandates.
Vaccine mandates have led some to predict ‘The Great Resignation‘ in the near future, and the impact could be detrimental to communities where many schools, hospitals, and law enforcement agencies are already understaffed.
