Taliban hang dead body from crane in Afghan city, but want resumption of international flights out of Kabul

Horrifying video footage has emerged from Afghanistan, portraying a country that has descended into outright barbarism after President Joe Biden’s humiliating surrender to the Taliban brought about an inglorious end to the two-decade conflict.

Those who were unable to escape, largely due to Biden’s indifference, were soon at the mercy of an Islamic extremist regime that was already notorious for its cruelty, and the new government quickly moved to impose the most intolerant version of religious fundamentalist law as well as to exact a terrible regime against its enemies.

A top Taliban official dismissed international outrage over the executions that it has conducted, sometimes taking place inside of crowded stadiums, “Everyone criticized us for the punishments in the stadium, but we have never said anything about their laws and their punishments,” Mullah Nooruddin Turabi told the Associated Press.

He added, “No one will tell us what our laws should be. We will follow Islam and we will make our laws on the Quran,” and that “cutting off of hands is very necessary for security,” citing the deterrent value of amputations.

No sooner had the interview been published than grisly video hit social media showing the mangled and bloody body of one of the Taliban’s victims hanging from a crane in the main square of the city of Herat.

A witness told the Associated Press that “Taliban officials initially brought four bodies to the central square,” said the man who runs a pharmacy near the square, where the body was hung, “then moved three of them to other parts of the city for public display.”

The gruesome image was tweeted out by former CBS News reporter Lara Logan who wrote, “Happy Saturday America – aren’t you proud of your leaders & your tax dollars going to support such a good cause?”

WARNING: GRAPHIC

She added, “You cannot imagine how excited & happy all Afghans are to have this type of justice back rather than the “failed American experiment” known as freedom & rights.”

Logan has experienced radical Islamic savagery firsthand when she was brutally raped by a mob in Egypt while covering the “Arab Spring,” that resulted from the failed policies of former President Barak Obama.

Others took to Twitter to express their outrage at the primitive display.

The Taliban claimed that the four were criminals that were killed in an exchange of gunfire with police during a kidnapping and that the display of the bodies was effectively sending the message there’s a new sheriff in town, “The aim of this action is to alert all criminals that they are not safe,” a member told AP.

Meanwhile, the Taliban has officially called for the resumption of international flights out of Kabul’s main airport where a terrorist bomb claimed the lives of over 200 people including 13 U.S. service members days before the evacuation concluded.

“As the problems at Kabul International Airport have been resolved and the airport is fully operational for domestic and international flights, the [Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan] assures all airlines of its full cooperation,” said Abdul Qahar Balkhi the Taliban’s foreign ministry spokesman according to Reuters.

It’s probably safe to say that Afghanistan will not soon become a preferred travel destination with such imagery likely to have an adverse effect on tourism.
