Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas appeared to say that he and the Biden administration are in favor of people crossing illegally into the country during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.”
Mayorkas made his remark in response to a question from anchor Chris Wallace, who asked why the administration allowed tens of thousands of mostly Haitian migrants into the U.S. near Del Rio, Texas over the past few weeks, adding that footage showed them by the hundreds at a time simply walking across a dam into the country.
“Why didn’t you build — forgive me — a wall, or a fence, to stop them…this flood of people from coming across the dam? It looks like a highway that allows them to cross the Rio Grande” river, Wallace said.
“It is the policy of this administration…ah, we do not agree with the building of the wall. The law provides that individuals can make a claim for humanitarian relief,” Mayorkas responded, adding: “That is actually one of our proudest traditions.”
A disgraceful admission
&
Actually wrongThere is no right to claim asylum for humanitarian reasons like economic improvement
The only legal reasons are persecution based on:
Race
Religion
Nationality
Membership in a particular social group

The DHS secretary, along with President Joe Biden, vowed to uphold all laws upon taking office, which includes those against illegally entering the United States, regardless of the circumstances.
Nevertheless, Mayorkas’ comments drew heated responses on social media.
We have port of entries for that. They’re not just supposed to walk into Del Rio, camp under a bridge, and be allowed into the country.

So, he basically admitted that encouraging criminal behavior in America is a Democrat tradition. “One of our proudest” he says, to be exact.

The people making these “proud” decisions all live in their gated mansions. They know it wont impact them much, so — no concern.

According to the DHS mission statement, the agency has five core homeland security goals:
Prevent terrorism and enhance security.
Secure and manage U.S. borders.
Enforce and administer U.S. immigration laws.
Safeguard and secure cyberspace.
Ensure resilience to disasters.— Cozy16 (@Cozy1614) September 26, 2021
wish they would just say they are trying to populate the US with more potential liberal voters…. everyone know that is their game.

Can you someone please remind @SecMayorkas and his pathetic boss @JoeBiden @POTUS what @DHSgov ‘s responsibilities are? If they continue to violate them then they should be abolished . @JudiciaryGOP @SenTedCruz

Earlier this month, the Biden administration appeared to have been caught off-guard by the arrival of hundreds, then thousands, of mostly Haitian migrants who crossed illegally and set up a makeshift squatter encampment underneath an international bridge near Del Rio, Texas.
Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, surged state law enforcement officers there to staunch the flow of migrants while DHS also deployed additional assets including Border Patrol agents on horseback, some of whom have been falsely accused of “whipping” migrants with the horse’s reins.
Mayorkas suspended the use of horses by agents shortly after the allegations surfaced last week.
