Things got crazy in Las Vegas when a meeting where local officials were debating a chilling proposal on cracking down on COVID “misinformation” devolved into chaos as security violently removed a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada from the meeting.
Mack Miller, who is running as a Republican, showed up at Tuesday’s Clark County Commission meeting where he joined protesters who were outraged over what some view as an abusive measure that places extraordinary limitations on their First Amendment right to free speech.
An already tense scene took a turn for the worse when Miller, who verbally sparred with security personnel, was forcibly ejected from the meeting. Video that quickly went viral shows him being dragged down a hall and crashing into a metal detector.
Miller laid on the ground for several minutes following the altercation.

Also posted to YouTube is what appears to be Miller’s first-person recording of the incident.

The controversial resolution which declared COVID “misinformation” to be a public health crisis passed by a 5-2 vote following the public comment period, although at this point it is largely a symbolic measure albeit a divisive one.
A lawyer for the commission told attendees that “It’s not an ordinance that enacts a punishment for people who feel differently or speak differently than the board’s message today,” the Las Vegas Sun reported.
Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones, the driving force behind the resolution hailed its passage.
“It’s important for our governing board to declare health misinformation as a public health crisis and commit to doing all we can to combat the falsehoods that continue to jeopardize the lives of our citizens,” he said in a statement after the vote.
Commissioner Jim Gibson, one of the two members who opposed the resolution, lamented the decision and the message that it sent, saying, “This is just ammunition that suggests now we’re gonna try to control speech which no one intends to do,” according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Marilyn Kirkpatrick, the other commissioner who voted no, said, “There is misinformation on all sides out there,”
“We are so awful as a community now just talking to folks,” she added regarding the current atmosphere, “…now we’re just angry on both sides. We’re angry all the way around.”
The resolution puts Clark County in line with the Biden administration which last month declared war on such “misinformation” with administration officials calling for social media censorship and press secretary Jen Psaki admitting that the government was working with Facebook to “flag” posts that aren’t in lockstep with the official White House line on COVID.
Biden himself accused the social network of “killing people” with misinformation, an assertion that the tech giant vehemently rejected.
As for Mack Miller, he is a controversial figure, to say the least. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that he deserted his fellow soldiers while serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq. He has also been criticized for his support of the far-right Proud Boys.
It’s probably not much of a reach to see such censorship go national based on the White House’s authoritarianism on vaccines.
