Parents try to save teacher suspended after students said he called them ‘chicken sh***, retards, cowards’

Parents at Gable Hall School in Corringham, Essex in England are embracing a “sticks and stones” approach in their campaign to save a popular teacher from termination after he called students “chicken sh***, retards and cowards.”

The remark was allegedly made by an unidentified male teacher at an emergency assembly that was organized to address the terrible behavior of Year 11 students, or as they are called in the U.S., high school sophomores.

The male teacher was suspended after news of the remark went viral online thanks to one of those ill-behaved pupils.

Gable Hall suspended the educator, presumably in a quick effort by the school to save their own tail, but in a surprising turn of events, parents are not angry with the teacher for his comment; rather they have slammed the misbehaved children who complained about the comment as “snowflakes.”

Parents have launched a campaign to save the unidentified teacher from termination, writing to Gable Hall to demand the teacher’s return, according to the Daily Mail.

In the meantime, many have rallied support for the blunt teacher online, some pointing out that his comments cannot be worse than how the students speak to one another.

“If these kids are offended by a few words from a teacher what hope have they got when they get out in the big wide world,” Moose Dineen responded online according to the DailyMail.

“Over 80 per cent [of parents and pupils] are fed up with those kids in question and are saying what a fantastic teacher he is,” local resident Jayne Louise said as reported by the DailyMail, adding she was “at a loss how this poor, fantastic teacher is being suspended.”

“As a past student from that school can speak from experience that the kids are absolutely awful and can almost guarantee they needed to be put in their places. Gable would be at an absolute loss if they lost [the teacher],” Tegan Herbing, an alumnus of Gable Hall said, calling the educator an “absolutely amazing and supportive teacher.”

Others called out the overly sensitive students and parents who were offended by the comments that perhaps hit a little too close to home.

“What a bunch of snowflakes. Come on he said a few bad words oh no. Grow up,” Samantha Taylor reportedly wrote.

“Keep the children wrapped in cotton wool, make sure they not ready for the real world when they leave school,” Ross Byrne wrote.

One parent pointed out the absurdity behind the performance outrage.

“Makes me laugh the comments on here, all the mum’s and dad’s slamming the man for what he said, yet none of them have commented or even physically gone up to the school and waited for the teacher to come out and called him out to say what he said to their kid in front of them,” Blain Nelder argued.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones but snowflakes will always be snowflakes,” Liam Coote added.

“Poor kids… I bet they use much worse language than that, they all must be so traumatised to the point of needing therapy,” Malcom Lewis jested of the students who were so ill-behaved in the first place, that they required an emergency assembly to intervene.

A decision will be made public today by Gable Hall headmaster, Ceri Evans on the fate of the teacher following an investigation into his behavior.

“It has come to my attention that a member of my teaching staff has made derogatory comments to the cohort of year 11 students. As a school we do not tolerate or accept such behaviour. A formal investigation is now underway which has been assigned to a senior leader within the Ortu trust. The teacher is suspended pending the outcome of the investigation. The decision of the investigation will be implemented by myself with the support of the governing body,” Evans said in an earlier statement.

It is the hope of many that the teacher’s tenure will be restored and the thin-skinned students who were spoken to as the adults they almost are, will take this as a life lesson.
