Woman slaps, curses out Navy sailor on 9/11, claims he’s a ‘fake’

A woman perhaps having a meltdown for some reason at a Connecticut pizza parlor allegedly slapped an in-uniform U.S. Navy sailor for being a “fake soldier.”

A social media user, who indicated that the sailor was her husband’s nephew, uploaded a recording of the bizarre encounter, or at least part of it, at the suburban Hartford eatery to TikTok where it subsequently went viral. Police are now probing the incident and may have located a suspect.

“This is disgusting,” the indignant woman yelled at Sean Nolte Jr., who is a volunteer firefighter in his hometown, as well in military service, as he waited at the counter for his order on September 11 of all things.

She then appeared to throw Nolte’s hat at or near the sailor (who was off-camera) and then allegedly whacked him in the face over what she apparently insisted, erroneously, amounted to stolen valor.

Another woman, presumably the person filming with her cell phone, can be heard advising the irate woman that she was on camera and to leave the shop, otherwise, she would call the cops. “I don’t know where this behavior is coming from,” that person noted. The bystander also cautioned the woman not to grab her phone or the sailor’s hat.

“You disgrace the USA,” the woman shouted in the sailor’s direction, as it looked like she was exiting the establishment. She then returned and said, in a parting shot, “That’s not a uniform, you piece of f—ing s–t.”

Earlier today, the Berlin, Conn., police department released an update about the incident at Central Pizza. “Thank you for the many tips we received, our investigators have been in contact with a probable suspect and the investigation is ongoing.”

Nolte, who is from Harrisburg, Pa., but is currently based at the Naval Submarine School in Groton, Conn., as a submarine electronics fire control technician, according to the Hartford Courant, posted a lengthy Facebook message about what happened on the “eventful day to say the least” from his vantage point.

Nolte claimed that the woman, who was waiting for a pizza at the takeout counter, was allegedly staring him down before getting in his face about his purported bogus credentials.

As she leaves, she looks at me and says ‘Nice Smile’ very sarcastically. I reply ‘Thank You, have a nice day ma’am’ and continue about my day. Not even 30 seconds later she comes marching back in, and yells at the Pizzeria staff ‘He is a fake by the way, my husband is in the Army….’ you can probably assume the rest. I proceed to attempt to prove that I am not a fake, even pulled out my VALID Military ID and showed it to her.

“She kept claiming that my Military ID is fake, and proceeds to show me her DEPENDENT MILITARY ID, and screams ‘This is what your ID should look like.’

As I realized there was no persuading this woman that I am not a fake, I politely say ‘Tell your husband thank you for his service for me, and have a nice day’. She storms out of the pizzeria, and storms right back in, progressively screaming at me ‘You disgust me, you son of a b—h’, grabbing my uniform and throwing my cover on the ground, not aware that I am a real service member. In a last ditch effort to leave, she rushes towards me and slaps me in the left side of my face.

Being in uniform, I must maintain professionalism, so I stand there and proceed to wish her a nice day…Well, looks like some of our own people can’t recognize authenticity when they see it,” Nolte concluded.
