In what was arguably the highlight of the evening, Rapper Machine Gun Kelly and MMA fighter Conor McGregor got into a fight at the MTV Video Music Awards on the red carpet, with McGregor throwing a drink at Kelly and security breaking it up.
“They scuffled then it settled down and Conor went for him again,” one source reported, according to Page Six. Someone told the media outlet they “got into a fight at the top of the carpet” and “had to be pulled apart.” Photographers evidently “weren’t happy” and were “saying they were going to boycott Conor because they were worried MGK and Megan wouldn’t walk [the red carpet].”
Another source said security had to step in and “everyone was screaming.”
“[McGregor] was ready to throw fists,” the source remarked, adding, “Security was having trouble holding him back.”
Kelly seemed unfazed by the confrontation when speaking to reporters and even laughed about it at one point. TMZ is reporting that the encounter began after McGregor asked Kelly for a picture to which the rapper allegedly said no.

However, a later report asserted that McGregor had approached Kelly to shake his hand and was then shoved by his security. That source noted that McGregor “doesn’t understand what the issue was, and was surprised by how he was treated.”
The faceoff allegedly escalated quickly with Kelly pushing McGregor, which in turn caused him to spill his drink. That was reportedly all it took for the short-tempered fighter.

McGregor denied all of the claims. A spokesperson for the fighter claims he never asked Kelly for a picture, to begin with.
“Conor McGregor did not ask anyone for a picture, nor did he instigate this incident,” the spokesperson declared in a statement to ESPN. “He does not know Machine Gun Kelly, outside of the fact that he attended Conor’s fight this past July.”
McGregor seemed to dismiss the entire altercation. “Absolutely nothing,” he said when he was asked what had happened. “I don’t know, I just showed up. I don’t even know the guy to be honest with you.”
“Just rumors. Nothing happened with me,” he told ET. “I only fight real fighters — people that actually fight. I certainly don’t fight little Vanilla Ice white rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”
Videos and a ton of photographs seem to indicate otherwise.

As Kelly and Fox left she appeared to say, “We’re not allowed to say anything.”

Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, came to the awards with girlfriend Megan Fox prior to his performance later Sunday night.
Fox caused quite a stir with a brazen, see-through dress that left nothing to the imagination and many thought looked more pornographic than stylish.

McGregor showed up with fiancé Dee Devlin and later presented Justin Bieber with the Artist of the Year award.
Madonna appeared in a shocking costume that went viral. Some commenters said the 63-year-old singer should flaunt what she’s got but a number of people noted that she had recently added to her aging physique.
If you’re dragging Madonna online tonight, you can’t really call yourself a feminist. If the reason you’re dragging her is because she committed the crime of still being alive, and behaving in a way that you personally don’t approve of, you are most certainly ageist. 💋 https://t.co/s30IVcn1NO

“And they said we wouldn’t last. But we’re still here motherf**kers,” Madonna yelled before Justin Bieber took the stage for the night’s first performance.
Another drama included singer Billie Eilish sitting unresponsive as singer/actress Jennifer Lopez appeared for a presentation. JLo’s arrival onstage was met with stony silence from Eilish as others wildly applauded her.
